Just as an aside,QC (Quade Cooper) laid to rest the 2 myths that the weaker squad members ave been propagating.
1) That you need months of specialised conditioning to be competitive.
2) the game is sooo different you need months of intensive training to understand the tactics/ strategies.

I do think Quade's conditioning caught up with him in the final and a few of his mistakes could have been attributed to fatigue and lactate buildup.. It was fortuitous for him that the Vegas Seven's was spread over 3 days so probably a little less physically demanding then your usual 2 days series.

I haven't done it myself but I would think a 3 day tournament would be as hard as a 2-day one but in a different way. i wouldn't under estimate the waiting, three days of warming up, cooling down and the mental challenge of getting out of bed for a second consecutive day with the aches and niggles knowing the games are going to get harder.

But clearly,he doesn't need months of specific 7's conditioning as naysayers have claimed.
Pretty sure Olympics is also over 3 days, and he'll get more than one ball work session to prepare for it.

They are not the biggest impediments to QC (Quade Cooper) playing 7's.

Also Carlin Isles not playing for USA. He's running a track meet to see if he can possibly qualify for the Olympics in two sports! 100m and the 7s! Good luck to him. But apparently his competition are running a lot better than his current PB of 10.15.........

Myths? i wonder what that makes Gordon Tietjens, for example? Deluded? A teller of tall stories?

If Cooper succeeds, and a player of his prodigious talents just might, it will not mean that people like Titch are wrong. To prove this, try picking a team of "stars" who have neither played Sevens, nor trained for it, and see how they go.

Cooper's success will depend on his being surrounded by Sevens specialists.

Funny. SBW has been quite vocal about how hard he found his initial training and experiences in 7s. Even said he had to get a lot fitter.

Big win for the Aussies in their pool game against Russia: 43-5.

The Russians guilty of too many dropped balls and missed tackles, a recipe for disaster in 7s. Sterner tests ahead for the Aussies.

Cooper was also posting stuff on his social media about how much of a step up 7's is in terms of fitness. He also played a lot of minutes off the bench so it's not like he was out there rolling for the full 14 every match.

Shit, even just from playing 7's and XV's at a relatively competitive amateur level there's an obvious gulf in fitness requirements between the two.

England have now lost 6 games in a row on the 7's circuit... This pleases me

Tell me,where does 'Titch' state that Cooper cannot possibly succeed in Rio on his limited preparation?
(Which is the point that many fringe players have been muttering)
No one has come close to suggesting that Quade could assemble a bunch of mates and succeed in Rio, so what's your point?
Refuting specific statements by pious general motherhood statements doesn't help you.
