SPECULATION is growing again that Matt Giteau wants out of the Wallabies. He's long had issues with Robbie Deans and sitting him on the bench for midweek games is hardly the way to treat one of the country's senior stars. French rugby beckons.

this little comment from to Danny Weidler

Thoughts people?

Why is it that any player disharmony and angst in any team he is in seems to revolve around Giteau?

Tough titties Giteau - Deans has given you more than your fair share of chances to prove your worth in this team, and when he is dropped for the first time he wants to pack up and leave?

I haven't heard anything out of Barnes while he has been biding his time on the sideline through injury, then making his way back onto the bench and staying there all season through no fault of his own.

"sitting him on the bench for midweek games is hardly the way to treat one of the country's senior stars."

Has this Weidler guy been following the rugby this year? Or is he just best mates with Git's agent? What a dickhead, just encouraging unaccountability for poor form.

personally, I thought Giteau was superb during the time he was on against France. If he can do that kind of stuff continuously, it would be good.

Weidler gets all his stories from agents, and associated dickhead hangers-on. I don't think he actually watches any rugby.

I thought he was ordinary and up to his old tricks. Barnes was superb - unselfish, maintained the quality of the attacking lines and structure, put speed on the ball and shifted the point of attack. Giteau ran across field, hogged the ball and isolated himself.

It would be best for everyone if Giteau left.

Some disgusting crabbing occured in my book on at least 2 occasions, although I also recall him throwing a beautiful pass in the lead up to one try.

Didn't change my opinion of him in his cameo - signs of class hidden amongst general mediocrity much of the time. If Giteau is having hissy fits due to being dropped he can up and leave as far as I'm concerned, there has long been blokes whose potential remains unfulfilled, rather than Giteau who seems to be waning.

I agree it's the knuckle dragging Weidler but how the fuck does one "want out" of your International team?

The only way to "get out" is to retire.

If it is true, then Giteau must retire. That will "let him out".

Barnes to me confirmed once and for all that he is the answer at 12. He was cool headed, defended brilliantly, ran great support lines and passed well. All things that Gits has under delivered on this year. I would like to see Matt stay and fight for his place, but if he's going to spit the dummy (and that article is typical Aussie sports journalist wankery), then we are better off without him.

If anything, wouldn't Deans retaining gits for so long indicate he was more of a fan of his, not less??

Weidler is a know-nothing mungo dickhead.

We have two excellent 12s in Barnes and, further down the line, JOC (James O'Connor). Both are top-notch goal kickers. Looks like the Quade / Barnes combo is the goods (no surprise for those of us who actually watched the Perth test) and JOC (James O'Connor) drifting into second 5/8 makes our back line impossibly dangerous. Quade/JOC (James O'Connor)/Beale as playmakers with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)/Mitchell as hard runners and Barnes as the steadying hand, linking man, and general organiser has a very nice balance, methinks.

Adios, Gits.

(Not that this article is worth spit...)

These always seen to come out in Dannys writings. I thinks deans took one our best talents and took him backwards.

This is probably a beat up, but the guy does seem to have a little bit of a sense of entitlement issue.

He'd probably do pretty well prancing around in 10 or 12 for one of NH squads. They could surround him with guys who'll run straight (ex-mungos?), and his crab walking might be less of an issue. It might even give him time to work on some of the problem areas in his game - he might turn a corner and come back a more useful player. Or he might look like he's turned a corner, only to come back and get swamped in super rugby. Or he might turn a Sam Norton Knight type corner, get lost and never be seen again.

Weidler is a fucking germ. Constantly writing articles of pure rubbish about his mates. I think I read him saying something about Mason being in high demand because of his great form this season for the Cowboys. Must have been watching some different games to the rest of Australia.
