Board faves Carter and Tilse were very good I thought as well.
I suggest Tom Carter be herewith known as Moore Park... the SupaCentre ( I realise only Sydneysiders may get this).
:lmao:
but its actually supacenta

Henry

Bill Watson (15)
3. Mitchell. Albeit his attack, some of his best defensive work
2. Horne. Massive on defence
1. Beale. Really stepping up

Carter was used and performed well last night, but this included spending alot of the time on attack on the wing (swapping with Schmoo) while being at 12 in defence and shutting down Maa. Not a supacentre, that was horne who contributed strongly in both attack and defence but Tom did his job nontheless.
Yeah, I was a little tongue in cheek, with all the Supaprop talk being bandied about!!
But I will give TC his due credit, he has done very well in the last 2 weeks as a foil to the other backs - gets forward, tackles well, even offloads occasionally. And it works now that Barnes is more front foot.
Horne is a freak - always gets across the advantage line, tackles strongly and technically extremely well and has the nous to be where he should most of the time.

3. Schmoo
2. Beale (Schmoo's defensive effort puts him above Beale)
1. Douglas (the guy put in all night and even though they were uncontested he ended the night at Open Head Prop)

Best performance by an aussie winger I've seen in years, I love the way Hickey used Mitchell as 1st receiver off the set piece reminds me of when Mitchell burst onto the test scene in 2005 when he skipped past Dan Carter.

In too many of these points threads the punters have been overly impressed with the glittering performances of those numbered from 9 to 15, in the Force's mini run, in the Reds' and Brumbies' victories and in the Tahs' two good games. The backs've played well, but only due to the possession and territory won by their forwards in each of these games. Have we forgotten the old adage: "forwards determine which team wins, backs by how much"? My points for the Tahs match:

3. TPN
2. Mumm
1. McCutcheon

And that's from a back!

Fair enough, Lindo, it generally strikes true. BUT, on Friday, those tries were created mostly from nothing in particular, rather than a long build up of sustained pressure, so in that game I would argue the backs did a fair bit of the "winning". Which is not to decry the effort up front at all.

+ 1

The pigs did great, but the backs did stuff from nothing/screws ups (like Turner's break and Beale's second try)

Reference to 8 stout-hearted, supremely gifted and highly-skilled athletes giving their all as "pigs" is extremely offensive in the world of AD 2010 :angryfire:.
