I'll tell you one thing, the performances of our wings this season are causing me to wonder if maybe I wasn't judging Tuqiri a little harshly. He may have had just as little penetration in attack, but at least he was bigger. Not worth the price tag but still...

lol naza i was using you as an example of someone who's back burgo for a long time and as just come round. I should have pointed that out when i quoted you but was having too much fun being aggressive.
i wasn't putting words into your mouth. just using you and something you said as an example.
TAHJ was saying I'd come on here next week and say blah blah about how much better genia is at starting then luke even if he fails. which is crap. why would i do that?

funny that you complain about me putting words in mouths then do the exact same thing, bu then again you come across angry at every turn so i take it your opinion is affected by kafes chalkboard rather than actual brain cells.

Here i guess your saying that i don't think and i get my opinions from other people. If you think that it's your problem not mine. Pretty dumb thing to say really.

Yes genia has made some bad decisions but when was burgo done better? Burgo will often pick out bad lone runners when he should just be firing it to the number 10. Burgo will often take the ball himself and then go to ground so we don't have a halfback for the next play. this ruins any chance of flow and building the phases.

I constantly point out is that a halfback needs a good, if not great, passing game. that's the most fundamental part of his game. Genia is better at this. that is my point.

sorry, Louie, carry on! i didnt realise you were being sarcastic!

Just finished highlights

3 - Elsom - more metres and rucks than anyone else
2 - Fat Cat - John Smit asking for mercy. Enough said
1 - Chisholm - More tackles than any other Aussie. Reformed seagull?

Hon mentions: Gits, Lakky T; an unfortunate spill in contact, but otherwise showed he's our most dangerous winger - witness his try. Also a great kick. I don't get the hate going round on him. Hynes was totally anonymous by comparison.

As for those who put Genia in the top 3. Wtf did he do other than distribute the ball? Any chance the red jersey and anti-Burgess campaign has colouRED a few views?

That (doing half your job for less than half a game) gets you 3rd best Wallaby player vs Robinson, Elsom, Chisholm, Alexander and Giteau?

Blame burgess. IT's all about contrast.

Nah the other problem is Turner.

Mate, Turner is a long way off perfect, but he's the fastest guy out there, bar none, and he looks like he's trying, is not afraid of contact, good boot, the list goes on. Miles ahead of Mitchell.

............. but he plays for the Tahs, therefore he is crap.

Just wait for the Francis Fainifo push to come ...................

And Queenslanders aren't one-eyed when discussing Reds players? Scotty, go back and have a good look at your posts: a casual glance shows you've recommended McLinden instead of Mitchell, Cooper over Gits and even suggested Higginclacker should get a go. God spare me, from THE most shithouse team in the history of Super rugby.

Scotty, a word from the wise: if you're a Queenslander drop "one-eyed" from your vocabulary.

Wise? How on earth do you think you can claim that mantle? Anyway, I'll respond to your fishing:

McLinden - just throwing a name out there that I know can link with other back three players. If Gerrard wasn't going os then he'd be the top of my list.

Cooper - I think I suggested Barnes first, then Cooper and JOC (James O'Connor). Realistically I wouldn't pick Cooper to start a test match at 10 until his defense was better, but I was making a point has to how poor Giteau has been playing, and how much he has affected our performances.

Higgen - I would have gone for Mowen over him if he wasn't injured. Ideally we would have MMM if he wasn't heading OS.

Stats from last week

Australia Pos Mins Runs (m) Tack Offl Kick T.Ass. L.Brk Ruck T/Ov. Miss
Peter Hynes LWNG 80 1 (0m) 3 0 3 0 0 1 0 1
Lachie Turner RWNG 80 7 (66m) 4 1 2 0 1 6 3 3
Drew Mitchell RES1 5 3 (37m) 0 0 0 0 0 3 0 0

Not impressive stats from Peter

And yes, Hynes also missed a high ball, it just didn't happen to bounce into Habana's arms.

It's not hard to see why he wasn't selected. I don't think he's back from his knee op yet - hobbled off the training paddock in Sydney.

Don't be a paranoid muppet - Fanifo is well off the pace overall at this stage but he is still more dangerous than Turner with ball in hand. You are just sore because Burgess, Baxter and Turner are Tahs - lose the chips. At one stage you talking about Turner being better than AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) ::)

Turner has offered very little and let in quite a few soft tries (SA - bouncing ball, Sydney - Sivivatu, Perth - Habana). Tonight he blew another opportunity in the corner - a wingers try if ever there was one. Hynes offer a lot more and deserves to start. Turner has great pace...allegedly. I've not seen it for a long time. I hope he comes good of course.

I'm eagerly awaiting for Ioane to return from injury.

Stats are misleading. They don't show how many tries a play conceded for a start.

Turner has plenty of gas - he showed it tonight in that try he botched. As you say, a try to be had, his position let him down on the line, and Habana made a great tackle to deny it. Pace was not the issue. Finishing was.

I think he was a little off balance in the last few metres, and that is why he couldn't get in position to score.

Mitchell showed tonight that he should not be starting. At his age his is unlikely to get much better, while Turner should continue to improve. With Hynes we know what we are going to get, which is limited but solid.
