I think I've been ignoring Genia from the points recently to share it around, Braid and Van as well because I wanted to credit the young blokes.
What I love most about Genia is he just seems to have so much time, like all the truly great players do. His hands are so soft in scooping up the ball and his awareness and control when under pressure (many times at the ruck tonight) is actually making me think he's an upgrade on the "great George Gregan".
Graham Henry will prove he's as stupid as he's ugly if he doesn;t select Braid as McCaw's back-up. The guy just gets the job done with so little fuss and sets a perfect, humble example for the young Reds pack.
Chambers and A Fingers stars continue to rise. They keeping playing together at this level and they are going to be an irresistable duo. Hynes is faultless and must be a Wallaby starter. Cooper maturing in tight situations which is extremely encouraging. Wish he'd have banged over a couple more kicks though.
S. Finger's tackling is lethel and his leg drive always effective in making ruckside metres. I thought he'd snapped one of Habana's legs by spearing in late in the match.
Weeks, Byrnes, Houston and Kennedy all did their jobs.
Rob Simmons and Ben Daley deserve B&F points tonight. Very mature and rugged performances amongst quality opposition. Both headed for Wallaby honours, if not this domestic season then perhaps EOYT. Great sign of the improved health of Aussie Rugby is the development of these hard young forwards.
So with a little post-match clarity assisted by a lovely full-bodies Aussie red (Tattachilla Cab Sav), my B&F points go to:
3. Genia
2. Simmons
1. Daley
