Spiro's quoted us over on The Roar in his write-up of the Honkers test: "The Green and Gold website (a mine of useful information) has published a table showing the Australia-New Zealand points difference in their last eleven Tests. The first loss was a 29-point thrashing. Then in the next four Tests up to the retirement of George Smith the points differential was -4, -5, -6, -1." Here's the link: http://www.theroar.com.au/2010/11/04/did-the-wallabies-hong-kong-win-mean-anything/#more-37082

RugbyFuture, Bruce and I lurk over there, and formeropenside continues to see the world through maroon-tinted glasses there as well.

Praise indeed!

Well done guys. This has turned into one of the best rugby sites on the net.

You may be surprised to know (considering that we're only a one sport channel) but the stats (via Alexa) say:

1. Throughout the Tri-Nations Tournament our internet reach was on occasions higher than The Roar's.

2. Our percentage of daily pageviews was higher than The Roar's.

3. Pageviews per punter were significantly higher than The Roar's.

4. We have far fewer single page viewers than The Roar's, and

5. Punters spent a lot longer on our site than The Roar's.

So Scarf, you're right.....

PS I don't think there are too many professional journo's working on our site?

6. Most things written on GGR make sense. Well, sort of. Most of the time, sometimes...

the roar, even though its not as popular as G&GR has a slightly higher profile due to the celbrities and "expert" writers, the fact that its run by the Zavos's is another part of its prominence, im still miffed by their rejection of one of my particular articles

Though i love getting into fights over there with the mungos

Thanks for posting Lindo. Very decent of Spiro to give us a mention, will drop him a note.

I actually wrote some of the earliest articles at The Roar while G&GR was in its infancy, but needed the freedom of my own place.

There's room for everyone, but I wouldn't want to have to compete with us!

None of my articles have ever been rejected. What was it about? And can I see it?

it actually wasn't rejected, it was pulled down after an hour due to the amount of traffic and code war intensity it was getting

it was about how the rugby name deserved to be Rugby's and rugby's only, and how its origins contradict league culture etc etc. i might have posted it here actually some time ago

My guess is it's either anti Mungo, or anti Apple.

Or maybe the worst scum of all, Apple using Mungos

Unlikely to have been too pro-Jerseys.

Quoted by Spiro.

Is that a good thing?

Surely this is better than being quoted by the Consumer of Meat Pies himself.

I can hear an Oscar Wilde quote coming on..... Wait for it....

There it is. After the full time siren and all. Right over the black dot. Perfect line and length. 2 points.
