Fox rugby Aus commentator's are shocking. Cant even get the players names right in the Aus team. Unprofessional compared to other Rugby commentary.
Just getting that off my chest.
Watched the NZL Rugby test match live on Fox much better in the commentary box.
I think we need some fresh commentator in Aus and a fresh approach to fox Rugby.
Kafe needs some help

I am in NZ atm, apparently they all think our commentary is the best, heaps better than theirs. Grass is greener and all that.

They shit on Channel 7, better team than NZ IMO, poor old Murray Mossop adds NO value to anything. Must have been at the bottom of 1 too many rucks.

The commentry debate is as old as the hills and is rehashed on every forum in every country multiple times every year. The guys at Silverfern hate our guys, as do the Saffas. They think guys like Kearnesy, Marto and Clarkie are just cheerleaders, and in some ways I see their point. But inherently every commentry team caters for its own country, and I reckon they are all as bad as each other.

Thought Bray, Horan and Crowley weren't too bad on Saturday. I certainly don't remember getting angry with them, which is unusual.

Our commentators are less biased than SA commentators they know a lot about the game, and they turn a dull game of rugby with their interesting commentary. I love their commentary. I don't actually mind Murray Mexted though

I dont mind canno. I have a lot of respect for him bouncing back from a tragedy like that. But Marto and Paul are unbareable.

Welcome to the forum BTW bigssy. interesting that your avatar is "Queensland rugby" (presumably a joke) yet, you seem to support the brumbies.

Also Kafe is the best Back-line coach in Australia and who is he signed to? The broadcaster.

I enjoy Kearnsy, Marto and Clarkie mainly because they don't take themselves too seriously. Kafe is definitely the most astute of the lot of them though.

NZ & Saffer commentators drive me mad with their bias. Clarkie drives me mad by endlessly reading out stats and ignoring what going on with the footy

As an aside, I'd love to get the Fox boys and Murray Mexted in the same commentary box. Hilarity would ensue, even if not always intentional, and there would occasionally be the danger of forgetting about what's happening on the paddock.

Sorry Fellas -Mexted was dropped from the commentary team last year.
Justin Marshall & Grant Nisbit call the games. Sideline stuff by Ian Smith
Ian Jones usually hosts the pre / post match

I like the FOX team, even though Kearns's routine is getting old. I don't mind some stupidity with my rugby, as I am often drunk when I'm watching games the first time, and up for a laugh.

All are heavily biased, which is the only problem, I suppose. Maybe a Tri-Nations commentary team would be better?

The Kiwis sound unbiased, all rational and calm, but they ignore every AB infringement, and make a big deal about the oppo. Just a reflex action, I suppose.

Kearns and Martin are colour commentators, they play two guys watching the game at the pub, a bit of sniping, a few jokes, a few whinges. While Clarke does the game and Kafe gives the analysis.

Best option, not really, but they think they need to fill the silence too much instead of just adding value.

I prefer the purist ABC approach, decent low key commentator and a little analysis, but even they have a chick for no real reason.

The ABC Shute Shield commentary is excellent. John Morrison and Brett Papworth are very good students of the game and don't detract from the play you are watching. Kearnsey and Marto are often silly, but I still enjoy them.

Not.

There is no more level headed commentator that Hugh Bladen. He at least commends the opposition and does research about them. Will any Aus or NZ commentator ever give you decent facts about oppo players? Rarfely. Bob Skinstad is also someone who bothers to do some research. I admit that some of the others are painful like Kempson.

Clarke is a joke here is Aus. I don't mind Marto and Kafe is great.

Nisbo and Smitty in Nz are a complete disgrace and an embarrasment to theire country.

I like Jones. Smith is not bad. he tends to inform himself about the opposition. Can't stand Nisbo. Smart arse.

I don't mind Tony Johnson, and John Drake used to be awesome until his untimely death. Unfortunately, Grant Fox never really filled Drakey's big boots and tends to be biased when his role calls for him not to be, and Fox tends to misread forward play a bit too much.

I hate Gordon Bray and will choose the cheerleading of Clarke et al every time.

I don't think that Clarke, Kearns and Marto aren't too bad, but if they could be a little less biased they would be passable. Definately they are above the class of Bray, who should have retired a while ago and just gets on my nerves.

A few times in the S14 they got one of the NZ commentators in the box for games that had a team from Aus and a team from NZ and it was quite good.

He ha changed this year suprise suprise but Marto has always struck me as a closet Tahs fan. Kearns used to have more positive things to say about the Reds in the bad old days. Marto shits me as I don't think he has much heart. Kearns is good. Sure he can be bias but that is raw passion shining thorough. That is what sets him apart from Marto. He always has a postive comment on good play regardless of the team. Together I find these two very ammusing. Clarkie is just your average career commintator. His knowledge is limited but he holds the package togather. Kafe is a mixed bag. Some of his stuff is insightful and other times he states the obvious and packages his analysis as if he was a used car salesman. Unlike a fair dinkum coach he can operate with hindsight and is never held to account over his observations unlike a coach. In my veiw, that lowers his credabillity. I do like the way he can bring the focus back to the rugby when the others get carried away.

Tony Johnson and Ian Jones are good but the others piss me off. TJ has a good sense of humour and Ian Jones reminds me of Kearns. I find the kiwi commintators are always possitive to the Reds. Quite frankly I like that. Ash's post was the first I heard of his passing RIP. How did he pass away? He was great and always called a spade a spade which I like. For some reason he always reminded me of Fred Flinstone.

Hugh Bladin knows his stuff but he has the personallity of a mop. This is counter productive when trying to stay awake watching matches played in the republic. I like Bob Skinstat as he is level headed and always positive. What happened to the Brossman? He was good.

I like the humour of Marto and Kearnsey and don't care for serious comentary. If I was totally serious I would prefer no comintators and just like to hear the ref and the players.
