This really doesn't look the best option to me. I'm a Tah so not committed, but I think they could do better:
  • Kimlin over Hand or Chisholm is a no-brainer (probably Hand)
  • Jerry should start with Owen coming off the bench. If they're trying to teach Owen to be a LHP for next year it would be better done in Shute.
  • Anyone else but Salvi, he's a penalty magnet. Edit: Didn't notice they'd dropped Hooper, he should be in for Salvi with Colby or Elsom to 8.
  • Phibbs for Valentine with White getting 30 off the bench.
  • AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) to 13 with Smith or someone else to 11 (for the Wallabies sake)
Haven't been impressed with Rea's selecting all year to be honest, but its really not the heart of the Brumbies issues.

I don't agree. We have no second row cover at the moment and a depleted back-row, with Elsom not having played in months. Kimlin on the bench to cover both of these makes sense. No one ideally likes to see Salvi starting at 8, but both of the alternatives you named leaves us pretty exposed if an injury happens to any of the back 5 in the game.

That's their strongest backrow IMO, despite the fact that Brown has played better this year. Sidey for Inman has to be an injury, though he must have done it in a pothole running backwards and forwards chasing kicks.

Tend to agree that it could have been a better side even with what they have - but not to the vehement level Slim is against it.

That said, is Alexander playing tighthead a "best for the brumbies" call or "best for Wallabies". Don't know anything about Owen, but fatprop, did you allude to him being a THP usually?

I can't see it being a "best for wallabies" call because surely then we would see Giteau at 12 and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13. At the very least AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13.

At least Rocky is going to get some time - for the wallabies' sake I hope he goes alright.

The Brumbies have played most of the year with Kimlin, Hand and Chisholm in the starting XV and no lock on the bench...

However, dropping Kimlin to the bench is just plain retarded... and should've at least been in the pack over Hand...

Also, Sam Carter is in the squad if they were really concerned about lock depth...

Salvi has been terrible since round 1 and has no place in the starting lineup over Hooper... and we all know that Valentine has killed us repeatedly...

Giteau at flyhalf? Didn't work the last 100 times... won't work this time...

Benching form players and continuing with combinations that have repeatedly failed is just ridiculous...

I also like Hawko's ideas...

Brown not even on Bench.. interesting call by the Force - he is not injured is he?

And is Mitch Inman injured again. Anything serious?

Depth is a problem for the Force but I like the look of there full strength team - add in Shepherd and Inman and Fairbrother and it on paper at least looks a good side.

Pity they are losing a few backs next year.

This game let me down! Thought it was going to be a wide open game, turned out to be a scrappy slogfest. The Force should have won, but it ended 13-13. Rocky played the full 80 which was a great effort for his first game back. He played OK.

Valentine could be the worst 9 i've ever seen. His decision making is very, very poor. Spirited from brumbies. Nice to see JW taking lots of notes.

Brumbies pack played with a lot more intensity. O'Connor killed the Force. Very poor decision making.

Ahhg!! WHat a let down!! The force should be shattered! Overwhelmimgly underwhelmed!.. Not sure what to think, yes a close game in the end which made it suspensful but riddled with errors, very physical with some big hits but lacking flaire and finishing.. Who wanted it more? I would say the Brumbies were hungrier which kept them in the game but the Force were better which allowed them to dominate possesion (second half) without result. I knew I shouldn't have stayed sober for this one...

Brumbies probably happier than the Force with the result. Force failed to take their chances after dominating the first part of the second half.
The Brumbies fell away again after a good start and were lucky O'Connor isn't a sharp shooter.
