Hard to complain with his results so far, almost beat the Canes and now beat the Highlanders at the House of Pain. O'Connor into the 12 jersey when he returns to show Deans he can do the job and let Stannard show Deans he can be the utility the team is after.

RG, balls of steal!!!

JOC (James O'Connor): "My legs still a bit sore, doc says it won't be ready for the weekend. (Don't want to risk doing more damage with RWC on the horizon (and I'm not even committed to this team next year.))"

RG: "No worries just rest up and get better for the next game. (thats fine Swanepoel, Stannard and a solid breakdown will get us home (won't need you next year.))

Great win.

But Ben Smith was poor in defending a great individual try from David Smith. You cant miss those tackles at this level.

Rip did you see the ground Ben Smith had to cover for that tackle. That Aaron Smith kick put the whole team under massive pressure. Most of the team were on the left side and D Smith took advantage. Very good try

Longbottom has held his own side of the scrum for the last 160 minutes of rugby against Tialata and King. He is definitely super rugby standard. He also had a few good hitups today. Definitely a starter for next week/and next season i would think.

Outstanding win.

Pocock, Hodgson and McCalman were all brilliant. Stannard's a better 10 than JOC (James O'Connor) and Swanepoel's pass is so slick and fast. Those two must be halves combo from now on. JOC (James O'Connor) to 12.

Loved Sharpe's reference to schoolboy rugby in the post-match interview.

I would've gone straight to Jamie and quipped "Not bad for schoolboys eh?"

Finally something I agree with you on.

This game from Hodgson to me showed exactly why Beau will not and should not make the Wallabies squad. Don't get me wrong, Beau has been outstanding this year but is a very specialised 7. Hodgson's game is very well rounded. He's a great ball carrier, defender and a line-out option. He can play all 3 backrow positions competently. He was the best on ground today.

3) Hodgson (just awesome)
2) Smith (shame he's leaving, is warming into his role at the Force)
1) Pocock/ Chucky

Was Morrissey out there as well?

Great win by Force especially after an extremely questionable yellow card ( onya Kiwi refs! ). Who is David Smith? Can he play for the Wallabies?

I thought the yellow card was harsh. Whilst Stannard did tackle the player without the ball, it was after the ball went past the Highlanders player and therefore should've just been a penalty. He could've easily thought he caught it since the ball was past him.

I am a little disappointed in the commentators. After the try by Ben Smith it was shown again in slow-mo as they always do and it looked like the ball was grounded well before the line and as the covering tackle slid into him the ball was raised and held up over the line and he was not able to ground it. The first commentator said "oh!" and the second said "oh yeah" and then they changed the subject and started waffling on about how much pace Ben Smith had.
I know Aussie commentators are biased in favour of their provinces but I'm sure even they would have said something like "lets take a look at it again from another angle".
It would have been a touch and go decision and maybe it was a fair try ( it had already been awarded)but by their reaction it was obvious the commentators had their doubts but refused to commentate on it or ask their technical people for vision at a different angle.
Did anybody else notice this?
I am not whinging about the ref but I am quierying why the commentators didn't say anything.

Well I thought they didn't make a big deal over Nasi Manu's (?) disallowed try that clearly wasn't a knock on. They could've been filthy over that.
