How bout including the current warts and all fantasy team, as above, in this weeks writeup and check the reaction. Maybe we could revisit it in week 10 or so if there's interest.

Interesting point on Genia, the awesome stuff he does is perhaps not worth a lot of fantasy points?

Is there a NZ or SA site where they do there own fantasy comp. I may be wrong, but I always thought the foxsports site was a lot kinder to the Australian players in the fantasy points department.

aye aye :salute

matty k, i might steal your list since it includes the points. nice touch.

Feel free. It was why I put it up.

It will be interesting to see how it holds up to the selection process by the powers that be at the end of the season.

Genia has had a bye, in points per game Will is 23.6 to Luke's 20

It would be interesting to see who makes the teams on a points per game basis. Disregarding players who've played ? 2 games, I'd venture.

matty_k

Peter Johnson (47)
I think to be fair you would have to look solely on the points of the round. Even if they have only played one or two games.

matty_k

Peter Johnson (47)
Sorry misread what you said. I thought you meant a team based on each round. Not a team based upon average per round.

We shouldn't need to do this though as it will sort itself out by the end of the season.
But it would be interesting.

If we start taking byes into account then we should potentially also look at the quality of opposition, quite easy to overengineer these things!

Edit: but as Matty said, it'll sort itself out by week 14

Newb

Trevor Allan (34)
yeah i think just the "as is" score is fine

that way by the end it will really be a body of work so to speak. otherwise horwill will probably still be at the top come the end, and well that's just silly.

matty_k

Peter Johnson (47)
This is based on the round. I followed the team run on players lists from round five.
The reserves may need some tweaking as I just picked the player who then scored the most for each category from each country.

I think I am just going to upload the excel file from now on.

So if the Reds Squad were killed in a plane crash (God forbid) this would be the Wallabies team.

Peter Johnson (47)
Purely based on Fantasy points.

Hang on. I need to drop Anesi since he can't play for the Wallabies.

This is based on the round. I followed the team run on players lists from round five.
The reserves may need some tweaking as I just picked the player who then scored the most for each category from each country.

The FoxSports page still says the points are preliminary but I don't think they will change too much.

Australia
There has been some movement. Genia and Burgo swapped, Sharpe and Douglas swapped. Carter has been completely dropped with O'connor taking his spot at inside centre. The rest just cemented their spot.

South Africa
Pierre Spies has muscled his way back into the starting XV demoting Kankowski to the bench and dropping Vermeulen and Naqelevuki has replaced Mapoe in the reserves.

New Zealand
Taumalolo has forced Schwalger out of the side and Vito has done the same to Braid. There has been a reshuffle in the backline. Dagg has moved to fullback, Sivivatu to 11 and Michael Hobbs has been promoted to inside centre. It is a basically new reserves bench.

Great work. Looks just like my team - not!!!

Given that a certain G Smith has ruled himself ineligible for international jury, should he be in the team? Who's coming second in the #7 spot?
