Pulver's not stupid, he's not paying Beale more money to keep that negative attention coming.

It is disgraceful to think that the lunatics are running the asylum and have created a culture within their "team" that a well credentialed and from all accounts, good man, has decided to end his association with them.
For the sake of the game remaining relevant on the sporting landscape in this country the ARU must send a very clear message to the players of who is in charge. Players who cannot behave in public or private and have the Gen Y mentality of only caring for their own well being (brand) should be given the opportunity to ply their trade where ever they want but never in a Gold jumper again.
If you need a model to work from just take a look at the set up the mob who pipped us tonight use. National pride in the jumper and the traditions it stands for mean more to the team than the fact that the most recalcitrant player in the team has again stepped over the lines of socially acceptable behaviour. No whinging or using the salivating media whores to forward their own agenda, just an acceptance that a player has disrespected what the team standards are and won't be around until the management decide whether he has learnt from his error.
The only coach out there with the appropriate experience to step into this basket case of under achievers is Graeme Henry but he may be too smart and knows the pitfalls. Anyone who has tickets beyond the pool stages of the World Cup isn't likely to be watching the Wallabies in action unless Wales shoot themselves in the foot.
You reap what you sow and Australia's pathway to the Wallabies being essentially through attachment to a school of affluence and influence along with what appears to be continued selection in age group squads, despite outsiders claims, has a lot to answer for. Discipline, both on and off the field, is not something you associate with this mentality as there is always a second chance on offer whether deserved or not and it needs to be corrected before a way can be found forward from the parlous state that rugby now finds itself in. For the games sake I hope those in charge have the courage to stamp out the "me" mentality and restore some pride.

This is pathetic on every front. The players behave like children; the ARU has been poorly managed for as far as I can remember; and the coach walks out the door leading into a world cup year.

The truly sad part is that the Wallabies played their best game since 2011 this evening.

I think this will seriously hurt our world cup chances as no alternate coach is likely to improve results. Bob Dwyer, Eddie Jones and Deans are all unrealistic options leaving only Jake and Chieka.
I don't think it is realistic for the wallabies to adopt the waratahs game plan as I simply don't think we have the cattle (in the forwards/backrow anyway). If we don't plan on playing like the tahs what benefit would we gain by giving Chieka the job other than satiating the tahs players who quite frankly have behaved like a pack of brats.
I don't think Jake White is a great option either as Jake Ball requires players who actually know how to tactically kick, something we currently seem incapable of. I guess he at least has the pedigree and the past results but I question whether he the kind of coach Aus rugby really needs right now.
I just hope the fallout of the Beale saga doen't end with McKenzie as it is clear there are systematic problems in Australia rugby which need to be addressed. I think they should start by sacking Pulver and attempting to replace the growing trend of 'player power' which only seems to cause disharmony.

While I am sure the origins of this go back longer than we may realise, to think the catalyst for this disaster for Australian rugby union started because a player took offence at being requested to wear the team uniform like everyone else in the playing group.
