Hi Everyone,

Ewen McKenzie has kindly agreed to do some Q & A with us and Gagger will be publishing on the blog.

As we don't want to give him 50 millions questions, we will be choosing the top 10.

Think hard!

Given the state of the team's injuries and performance, who would you send across if say 2 replacements are called for?

great question, I would add to it though, and ask if he takes an interest in the fitness of his players in the "off S15 season" or is it up to the player- so are his team fit enough for a call up

What's his opinion of the break in June for the inbound test matches in the 2012 S15? Coming at the back end of the season and considering that quite a number of the reds players will be in the wider squad, will it compromise the team for the last 3 rounds? Too much rugby?

Are you happy with the QLD Premier competition as a feeder and breeding ground for Reds talent or do you think an interim competition for potential elite players is warranted?

When Deans falls on his sword will you be ready to jump in and resurrect Australian Rugby?

Are you a scruncher or a folder?

But seriously, If you were offered the wallabies assistant coaching job for the next 2 years, and Queensland rugby was willing to let you go, would you work under deans?

Please ask him about the contract situation.

Was The Daily Telegraph correct in March this year when it reported there will be a $4.4 million salary cap at Super Rugby level next year, which will then be cut back to $4.1 million from 2013 - and the money must be spread between 30 members of a "core playing squad" and five players on rookie contracts.

Within that question ask him if it is a minimum of 3 and a maximum or 5 as it was in the old days, or does it have to be 5? Also - what disqualifies a player from being deemed a rookie? Does any play the previous year, even for a few minutes, disqualify a player?

And what about if there are 3 prop injuries, for example, and the rookies are not developed enough to play in a game yet. If the Tahs wanted to hire a hard head from the Sydney comp be cherry picked into the team in such an emergency does this have to be counted under the cap - or does the team get dispensation?

While I'm on a roll - what about what we used to call the professional academy whose salaries used to be funded by the ARU. Are they now subject to the new academy system and subject to a draft? Or is it just the amateurs that the ARU is going to administer?

Since Link is a good bloke I'm sure he won't mind looking at the 3rd party payments mentioned in the Telegraph article and commenting if it is right:

How many question is that? Probably over the cap, I'm thinking.

He has been the coach of Paris Stade Français for two years before being appointed at the Reds. What are the things he did at the Reds that he couldn't put in place in Paris, where he hasn't been as successful ?

As a coach, what runs through your/his head when deciding when to make substitutions in a game. Is this something thats incorporated in the gameplan before game day or does he make a decision as its "played in front of him"?

He wasn't there for that long...

My candidates for the 10 Questions are:

Does the Franchise Head Coach (in the case of Super Rugby) or the Wallabies Coach (in the National Case) have a responsibility to develop the game beyond the extended squad that they are in charge of? If so what measures would they be?

What measures would you take to ensure that your style or philosophy is enshrined in feeder clubs and districts, schools and junior clubs down to grass roots level so that firstly the transition from club/academy level to Super rugby is as seamless as possible, and secondly that your "brand" of rugby continues to bear fruit through the pathway for years to come?

There are many Australian Cyclists riding for all sorts of cycling teams in the glamourous European cycling circuit. Next year there will be an Australian Team in the Tour de France. Having coached rugby in France, noting that there are a large number of foreign players in the European leagues, would you see a time when there would be an Australian Rugby Team based in Europe to compete in the European league, with those players eligible for Wallaby selection?

How important is it for a professional rugby player to gain skills and qualifications for a life after rugby in either a trade or a profession while they are playing professionally, and what responsibility, and role should the Super Franchise, the RUPA and State Unions and ARU take in promoting this?

Sydney (Eastern Suburbs and North Shore), Canberra and Brisbane seem to be reasonably healthy for player numbers and Rugby Supporters. What can be done to bolster support and player numbers in the Bush, Southern States, Western Sydney, the Hunter/Central Coast and the Illawarra?

There is a perception that the Rugby Union Executives at state and national level are out of touch and that they are no better than the Bunch of old farts that Will Carling accused the English Executives of being. What can be done to address this perception?

Rugby is seen by many as being elitist and Private School based. Rugby League actively promotes itself as being the game of the people. While the All Black and to a lesser extent Springbok tests typically sell out, It is an expensive day out for Mum, Dad and two or more kids to go to a Test Match or Super Rugby game, what would you do to help fill the stadiums for the other games?

Do you prefer Marching Bands and massed choirs, or rock bands and solo artists to sing the national anthem on game day?

If you were the boss of the IRB, what are 3 things you would change immediately, 3 things you would state are never to change, and 3 things you would identify as worthy being changed subject to further study?

Is the unladen airspeed velocity of the European Swallow greater than the African Swallow during the southward migration, and does it change during the annual northern migration.
