I feel Tupou has had so much limelight in part for his bulk, gym clips and the odd grandstand highlight. But Bell is just quality through and through.

Outside the defence in the first 15 or so, my only real issue with anyone in the team in that game is with Tate's core skills (passing and box kicking)

He is amazing around the ruck, really world class and contributed to 2? tries but man he needs to work on his pass. He is also not as strong a box kicker as Gordon.

I feel its going to be hard for him to break into the starting team unless he can fix his service. You can excuse it at the end of the game when he is sniping around the ruck, but it was really noticeable today.
Yep this.

I love to watch Tate but his passing just isnt there still. There was a moment in the second half just after he replaced Gordon where we were trying to clear our 22 and he has laid a left-to-right pass right on the receivers shins when under no pressure. It could have gone pear shaped but we recovered. Its a tough one because his work around the rucks is excellent but core skills at this level are paramount.

This gives me goosebumps. Love hearing the different commentary. Almost a joyful riot in the French commentary box.
The French commentary is always so much fun, they do away with any pretense of impartiality. It’s the wife’s biggest complaint about watching rugby with me is the English commentary is so dull and unemotional.

Just saw the LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) collision at 62ish minutes. We were so lucky not to play with 14 for the rest of the game there.

If they take a look at it....it's high contact and no mitigation available because what he is doing is illegal in the first place

I am surprised there was no mention of the Wallaby player receiving the high ball, who LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) was protecting, getting taken out in the air on the same play

One thing that was really clear from this game is how well the bulk of the team needs to play to beat strong teams, particularly if the opposition don't have a bad day. Overall I thought England played to about the level we'd expect this current team to play to and it took an incredible Wallabies performance to win. In most years I would say we lose that game by 13+ points against that level of English play at their home ground.

It's hard to remember the last Wallabies game where so many players produced between good and excellent performances. It's very hard to pinpoint anyone who wasn't at least solid. The bulk of our team were significantly better than that.

Now the goal needs to be to improve our consistency so this isn't a one-off performance. How do we get the bulk of our 23 having a 7/10 performance with a sprinkling of 8s and 9s?

It was egregious from Salakai-Loto.

I think the tackle in the air on Jorgensen would have needed to be pretty ugly and dangerous for it to trump the penalty we'd already given away.

I'd missed it initially, like many others who were focussed on LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), but it was pretty not great from Itoje - just a straight up tackle (albeit seemingly aborted after contact) to Jorgenson's lower legs. Jorgo lands on his hip and shoulder and was pretty lucky not to rotate further forward given Itoje's area of contact.

Not discounting LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)'s actions, but both incidents probably should've been looked at a bit more closely.

Agree that the penalty was a lucky sanction, but not that a red was necessary. Not that the teeth flying out of his mouth should necessarily increase the sanction, but it was a pretty gruesome injury and vision.
