Light rain in Christchurch. May slow things down and make handling a little difficult.

CruSadists to lift for this match and could deliver a banana skin for The Tribe from The Tron.

Sam Cane yellow carded for a breakdown infringement after about 7 minutes and he is off for 10 minutes in the naughty chair.

Dan Carter slots the PK for the CruSadists to take a 3 point - 0 lead.

CruSadists penalised from the kick off and Cruden lines up a PK shot at goal, winding down the clock for Cane in the bin.
Cruden is successful and the scores are tied 3 each after 9 minutes.

Carter misses a penalty and score remains 3-3. Cane only has 5 minutes left in the naughty boys chair. 12 minutes gone.

Carter misses another easy PK and the score is unchanged. Hope THe Darkness select him as their 10 against us in the RWC Final. 16 minutes gone. Cane warming up, and is on now. Chiefs back to 15 players.

Chiefs scrum. Beautifully-worked move takes the Chiefs deep into opposition territory.
Advantage being played as the Chiefs get near the 22. From the back of the scrum, Cruden launched a crossfield kick on his own 22, which was taken by Nanai-Williams, who fed inside to Tom Marshall to break past halfway.
Penalty Chiefs.

Cruden is down and being being treated in backplay. Looks a knee but he's up again, but PK is right in front and Tim Nanai-Williams has no problems adding the 3 points.

Chiefs lead 6-3 coming up to the end of the first quarter.

Cruden's off replaced by Horrell.

Michael Leitch scores the opening try of the game for the Chiefs. The Chiefs were attacking near the sticks but Ellis won a turnover. He then flicked it at Sir Richie GOAT who knocked on, leaving Leitch to take advantage as the Crusaders fell asleep.

Horrell adds the extras to take the score to Chiefs 13 Cru 3. 22 minutes gone

CruSadist forwards are dropping off tackles. Chiefs piggies looking sharper. 28 minutes gone. no change to score.

Big Bad Ben Tummyfuna has been penalised just outside the 22 off a lineout. Carter lines up a PK from the 18 metre line. He pushes it to the left but is closer. That is 3 misses in a row from Carter, all relatively easy for the Carter of old.
31 minutes gone. CruSadist 3 Chiefs 13

Another penalty to Canterbury from a scrum. Problems with the Crockett - Tummyfoona interface. Carter finally gets a second PK through the sticks. CRU 6 CHI 13, 3 minutes until oranges.

Siren sounds. CruSadists laxitive and Leech turns over pill from a CRU tackle contest with a quick pass off the ground to winger Lowe, who scampers in from 70 metres out for a meat pie to the Tribe.

Horrell makes a hash of the converstion attempt but they head to the changing sheds for oranges and a drink with the score at CRU 6 CHI 18.

Tahspark

Ted Thorn (20)
Saders give up a try after coughing up the Gilbert whilst heavily on attack and Lowe needs no other invitation on his way to the tryline. Shades of the Tahs against the Stormers last week.

Dismal Pillock

went into this one a neutral but now pulling for Chiefs due to Ian fucking Smith and his raging sideline stiffy for all things Cantab.

some diesel calibration issues for the Cantabs Rolls Royce Phantom Menace forward pack.

CruSadists have had Territory and Possession by 60% but have looked sloppy.

Chiefs have just focused on their defence to create their opportunities which they have grasped with the same vigour as a young bloke gets stuck into a pile of free frangers during Schoolies on the Goldie.

Dan Carter has left 9 points on the part with his uncharacteristically poor kicking missing 3 relatively easy penalties. Score could have been 18 - 15 at oranges but alas Dan's wife didn't pack his kicking boots so it is 18 - 6 to the Chiefs.

Sam Cane penalised, possibly a little harshly, for a no clear release after his tackle right in front of the sticks. No problem for Carter to take the score up to 9 - 18 with 44 minutes gone.

48 minutes gone as Carter is back to his tactical best. Nasty grubber put through from halfway that forces a 5 metre scrum for the Cru. Great kick chase from Nandolo.
Chiefs turn it over from the ensuing play (off Nandolo) and have a relieving penalty which finds touch midway 1/2 and 22 m line.

53 minutes. CRU penalised on their 10 metre line 18m from left touch. Horrell indicates a shot at goal ... ... ... and drags it to the left. No change to the score - CHI 18 CRU 9.

Sir cops a huge Falcon from Chiefs 9 Webber, right on the schnoz. That would bring water to your eyes.

Scrum to the Chiefs to restart. 56 minutes. CHI 18 CRU 9.

Crockett penalised for taking the scrum down, centrefield, 27 metres from the sticks. Horrell lines Gilbert up and boots him between the uprights to take the score to Chiefs 21 CruSadist 9. 59 minutes gone.

More turnovers than seen at an Austrian Bakers convention.

66 minutes gone. Chiefs 21 CruSadists 9.

CRU not looking like scoring a meat pie. CHI defence too strong for them.

Bench being emptied by both coaches with 68 minutes gone. No change to the score.

Bit of a dismal game full of mistakes and penalties. A few good tackles and a good ball to the shnoz of the ref are the highlights.

More meat for the Tribe following a sloppy exit play by the CRU (Carter misses touchfinder).

20 chiefs has meat pie. Horrell looks for the extra points ... ... ... and it is no good with the score now 26 - 9 with 7 minutes left.

No banana skin for the Tron Tribe today. CRU attack has been non existent.

Sam Cane (even with a YC against his name) has comprehensively outplayed Sir Richie GOAT. Has Old Father Time finally caught up with him. The Lords of Darkness are fairly mercenary and may not take the GOAT to RWC on the basis of his leadership and aura alone.

Time is up. Last play. Chiefs still trying for a BO try to no avail. No change to the score before Sir blows no game.

Fat Shiela commences her Aria. Chiefs 26 (3T) CruSadists 9 (0T).
