Great Result for the Reds tonight! 31-23 winners!

My thoughts on Cooper is that he is may have been pretty sloppy in some areas of the game but he is literally the man we need to beat the lions. There is so many little things he does and creates so many gaps and gives his outside men so much space there isnt a 10 who plays like him and as good as him.

WTF are you talking about. If sloppy scores a shit load of points by your standards what the hell would plahing a good game look like?

Sloppy?
I did not see too much wrong today - and I'm no fan

A really impressive first 60 by the reds. Good to see Rocket get a pair as well.

I know everyone says to take the points when on offer, but given how the reds line out and mauling was going (and the complete domination over the chiefs up to the 60 minute mark) I really think we shouldn't have gone for 3 points with 20 to go. I reckon the chiefs would have breathed a sigh of relief that they went for three intstead of going for the line out and try.

Still, I'm very happy (and surprised).

No - i reckon you have to grind it out. That chiefs team can score points from the third row of seats behind the dead ball line.

I tend to agree with you IS, think Deans would be real happy with Quades performance.
But all in all, what a ripper of a game, Reds played bloody well, not sure Chiefs played badly, just Reds were better.

for reds:
QC (Quade Cooper) is playing 2011 style... almost
Genia is playing as well as he ever has if not better. he is everywhere and is getting everything right.
Reds backrow played very well i thought.
Rocket had a great game.

for cheifs:
Osbourne was immense, looked dangerous literally every time he got his hands on it
Anscombe i thought had an awesome game
Outside backs looked dangerous.
Forwards weren't as tight as the reds and i think in the end that is what let them down.

Excellent win. To go to Waikato and come away with 5 points is not an easy thing.

The Reds really have the blueprint on how to beat the Chiefs down pat. Excellent work from the piggies, I was again particularly impressed with our loose trio. Gill is on fire, Quirk goes hard at everything and Schatz gets through a phenomenal amount of work.

Great return from Rocket too. Got caught out in defence a few times though, but he made up for it with 2 good tries.

So by my calculations we are just 2 points behind the Brumbies now. Next week's match will go a long way to deciding the conference.

I am a Cooper fan, but I don't think he was particularly brilliant. Did his role fairly well, kicked well, passed OK, scored a nice try. It was hardly a compelling 'pick me' game, but it was a good solid contribution to a 15 man effort.
