@Joker looks like schedules are being released. Maybe time to open the gates and see if the hounds can behave.
I am intending to open the gates after the HOR.
The mods will be ready to deal with unruly hounds.

BTW....I have noted that Joeys now have 13 waterpolo teams and 24 tennis teams.
Cricket has slumped to 13 teams. Sydney parents are the cause of this.

The path of least resistance Joker. If I have to play a Saturday sport then let's get it done and dusted and I don't want to spend half a day in the sun.

Most cricketers are boarders. They work on this idea. Why spend 30min playing giggle ball and then the rest of the day in the dorms. They love the fact they can spend half the day in another part of Sydney getting up to all manner of mischief.

Still awaiting your Cranbrook v Scots write up @Joker
You are indeed. I have had to rewrite it. My laptop was wiped by accident while being serviced.
Bought a new one but kicking myself I didn't save this in the cloud.
Finally, typing is hard now as I have limited feeling in my fingers so I can be a bit clunky and slow.
This added to my onset issues with memory I am trying to record as much as I can.
May be easier to meet for a beer (no students please)

I'm not sure country cricket is as strong at it used to be. Only three country boys in the Joeys 1st XI, and one in the 2nds.

Most of the boarders I know do the short sport and then hit the gym for a rugby workout. They're not interested in hanging in the house.

Relax Joker, we all appreciate your candid, very funny, biased blue & cerise tinted glasses, mind you, we are all somewhat lop sided.
I would think your terrific work over the years has minimized any memory loss, something we can all appreciate.
Continue on young man!

P.S. Your Joe boys are playing my Waves this year at Joeys, first time for a while.

Hey everyone

With the rugby season fast approaching feeling excited to get stuck into some schoolboy footy once again. Looking forward to hearing everyone's predicted XV's for the 2025 Season as well as their predictions on who will take out the shield this year!

Barker's trial game opponents are Oakhill, Riverview then Shore which is the curtain raiser to the Tahs v Reds game as previously mentioned on the blog. All three games will be solid hit outs. Oakhill are always strong, Riverview is a bogey team for Barker historically, and Shore are the reigning GPS champs. Prior to this, in the pretrial trial games, Barker played Daramalan and Marist last weekend with it very much being trials with 1sts and seconds combined and well mixed. This weekend they play a trial against Gordon Colts followed the next weekend against Joeys.

Barker will be strong this year. They have 4 lads in the NSW U18 squad, Tahj Smith, TJ Talavera, Harrison Deane and Keegan Daly. Young Joel Stovold (16As last year) is now close to 2m tall and 105kg will partner Tahj Smith in the second row. So the forwards will be strong and robust and very fit. The backs other than Harrison Dene will be competent without being special, but with a strong forward platform to run off they will score points.
