Thought I'd give my input from a New Zealander perspective. After moving to Australia 3years ago I've become intrigued by the CAS schoolboy competition as I've had a nephew in the comp. It's a shame because these schools, including Waverley would be killed by the likes of Kings (in Auckland) and Auckland grammar school etc. In the future I want to see the growth of Australian schoolboy rugby and all players staying in union to give the mighty All Blacks a run for their money. I reckon a competition between the CAS schoolboy sides and the Kiwi ones would be interesting and would really boost the culture in Australia for schoolboy rugby. Can someone give me their insight on this. Looking forward to tonight!

In regards to your comment, appreciate your valuable New Zealand perspective. Back in 2008, I took my mighty Coogee cardinals (under 13's) to Rotorua (geez it stinks there). We played quite formidable opposition and took a narrow loss. My nephew who played fullback at the time couldn't tackle the family dog. The closest CAS has come to New Zealand would have to be Waverley College v Southport School back in 2017. Can't quite remember the score, if someone could (e.g. microwave) refresh my memory of the score? that'd be great. IMHO CAS continues to build towards something great. Yes agreed, but although there is the schoolboy competition between New Zealand schoolboys and Australian schoolboys imagine CAS reps playing against the likes of the Auckland schoolboys earlier in the year! I'm just excited thinking about it. Thoughts? BB

In regards to your comment on those tour I've seen younger teams cycle through New Zealand but no CAS reps playing against the top tier teams in New Zealand. The younger kids absolutely love the tours though from what I've heard great experience. BB

Waverley 2017 and Barker 2018 would have handled anything Kings Auckland or Auckland Grammar would have thrown at them given the number of Aussie schoolboys in each side at the time. Dont know about the current crop. These things are cyclical.

HasBeen I have to disagree with you on that one. Barker's forward back sure seem to dominate in CAS yet if they played those two teams they would get pumped. Auckland grammar has had the likes of Rieko Ioane, Doug Howlett go through the school. The Barker 2018 would not be able to complete with the ruthless forward back Auckland grammar have as they possess skills that only Barker's backs could hope for! That Waverley 2017 team would be interesting though with the likes of Ben Donaldson and Brooklyn in the backline and strong forwards with physicality. Would be interesting. I mean South African schoolboy rugby is in a different league though wowee. Thoughts? BB

Considering the 2017 and maybe some of the 2018 teams would have played in the recent U20 world cup I cant see how you can claim the Aussies would get "pumped" NZ got beaten by SA and Wales !! made Australia made the final

Which is the point I was making indirectly at post 1147. If Beauden had actually seen the Waverley 2017 backline in action or the size and conditioning of the 2018 Barker forward pack (Rod Skellet will correct me if I am wrong but i think the average weight was 110 kilos) he may offer a differing view. But in the meantime BB - you win - you can be more emphatic than I - ha ha - I will let others take up the cudgel on this one.

2nds game. GPS lead 7 nil at half time. Was here for last 15 min of half. CAS have had no ball. Defending. Packs look even. GPS backs look like have more zoom zoom

Barker toured NZ in 2018 and won every game by 40 points. Sure they did not play schools mentioned but they would have matched them easy
