CAS 2019

I have watched video of this game , very tough battle displayed here...but again very questionable officiating.
Both teams probably got their fair share of penalties, but there were a number of uncalled events that would of changed the outcome.
For instance Linfield first try should not have been awarded , as there was a clear knock on by the centre who passes the ball from the breakdown ( if you have the footage it’s at the 4 min mark ) this would have Randwick winning ?
Also ill discipline could have come into play , the same centre tackles the wicks 9 high which leads to him being escorted from the field for HIA. The centre is then seen celebrating the incident or was he celebrating the fact that he did not receive a card ( which could also change the end result )
End of the day Lindfield have bragging rights in the U16 A division club comp and it is what it is. I am looking forward to the 2020 schools opens season especially the trial period CAS v GPS where most of these boys will hopefully meet up again for some mouth watering action.

Plus just to touch on your unsportsmanlike remark.. My brother was at State Champs June long weekend for the Randwick v Gordon match. He was amongst Gordon parents and supporters and was witness to some pretty poor behaviour from this group. I won’t repeat what he heard but let’s say there is no place for it in our game. What hope do our young players have if this is how their parents behave . I would suggest that Gordon / Linfield are probably the ones with a unsportsmanlike reputation.

End of the day lovetap, Lindfield have won 5 of the last 7 A grade comps through this age group, and they are an excellent team. Randwick, together with Blacktown, have been their strongest opposition in the last 2 years, and its fair to say there has been some ding dong battles. All 3 teams are talented, spirited, and generally, play the game in the right spirit. Not sure of your involvement LP, but i have been the forwards coach of this Gordon team for the past 3 years, so i'm pretty sure I know exactly whats been going on.
If a Lindfield centre happened to hit one of his Randwick opponents in what you construed to be a high tackle and was not picked up by the ref, as with the Randwick boys and any other team, I'm sure he was delighted with a strong tackle that wasnt considered by the ref to be high. Sounds like you werent reffing.........so i suggest you move along and say thank you to the men and women, boys and girls, that actually donate their time to allow this great game of ours to continue.
Your brother perhaps also didnt hear some of the comments directed to the Gordon parents during that particular game at the State Champs , such as an invitation to one of our mums into the car park to discuss who could throw a better right hook.
My point is.......both teams have great players and we all look forward to the ensuing battles over the next 2 years in the school comps.

All of Randwick and the Gordon/Chatswood/Lindfield nexus are generally just fine

It's those Eastern Suburb fuckers you've got to really watch. Getting mown down by a Porsche Cayenne while queuing for a tumeric latte is terribly poor form

Axel and lovetap,

You are both correct, there have been some stupid comments on both sides, which goes to show that idiots live on both sides of the bridge. Boys are just that, boys, and can be stupid, but parents should know better.

Let's forget it now and resume verbal hostilities next year, Ha!

I think they all like the verbal hostilities WLF.....at least I do. I am a Lindfield Rugby Dad (from some years back now) so have enjoyed the banter.....

Axel.
As you say the both teams have great players and as I point out sometimes not so great supporters .( I find my brothers recollection of events to be pretty accurate) which also has support from selectors that also heard the exact same comments from Gordon supporters. I will not mention my credentials as a referee but I’m pretty positive I have some knowledge of the game.
You fail to mention the clear knock on that leads to Lindfield’s first try ? We could go back and forth and nit pick but as we have both said it is done and we can’t change the result. I look forward to future battles between these 2 groups both at school level and colts level.
End of the day rugby was the winner !

Barker College student Billy Pollard, having spent 2017, 2018, 2019 in the schools 1st XV, and as the run on hooker for the Australian schools side in 2018 and 2019, has signed a 4 year deal to stay in Rugby Union with the ARU. He will link with the Brumbies Super rugby franchise in 2020.

Great news Rod.......hopefully he's the first of many to turn their backs on league.

In all due respect mate lindfield/gordon are brought up to play like grubs as of watching WLF's sons randwick team take on gordon in a nail biting semi final in Warringah resulted in a punch up on the field. A good strong tackle from a randwick boy resulted in him getting his shirt put over his head while getting punches thrown at him. The parents from the gorgon team started yelling out the randwick boys from the sideline calling one of the players a "black grub". Therefore I think that gordon as a community should take a look at themselves and pull their heads in.

Anyway, on brighter terms, does anyone have any predicted line up on any of the teams in the 2020 CAS competition?
