That's it.

Fuck that was there to be won. No excuses. Highlanders next week are gunna be next to impossible to beat. Season over.

Go the Reds.

Waratahs really impressed with their commitment in the 2nd half. They were outgunned but gave it their all. Uncontested scrums certainly helped, Barnes was a stabilizing influence and Beale was superb.

O'Connor send-off unwarranted and it came just when Tahs were getting on top. I know we are highly sensitive to ref performances but its the touchies who deserve additional scrutiny at times; their contribution is often very poor.

Whilst it was a crap decision to send O'Connor off it's justified in the sense that uncontested scrums really favoured us a lot.

Good to see Beale get MoM in a losing side because he was so far ahead of the next player it wasn't funny.

Got to look very hard for that silver lining...

Highlanders lost...

Tahs got a bonus point...

They get the trip to S Africa all done with...

Home games in the two remaining rounds...at least there's more of you having a chance to boo them!

anything else, fellas?

Fat Cat gone for the season I'd say. Douglas gone too with suspension.

Highlanders will be desperate and we'll be fatigued coming back from a brutal game. Don't really give us a chance at all. Question mark over Turner but at least Barnes/TPN got through the game with no trouble.

On the red card, whilst I'm not pissed that much at the decision because I wouldn't say it cost us the game something really needs to be done about Pro Legoete. He initially said headbutt and when Joubert replied that means red card he was very nervous and then even doubted himself, tried to back out of it but had to go with headbutt in the end because that's what he said. This isn't the first time he's put his flag up into order to go on TV for nothing incidents. He got the Douglas one right but this was way too far. To allow someone to be red carded for absolutely nothing is pretty bad, imagine if that happened in the first 5 mins of the game. Also, whilst it's hard to blame Joubert, maybe they should think twice about blindly carding someone. I'm sure Joubert was watching the ruck too.

The Waratahs made 24 lost possessions/turnovers compared to the Bulls 14.

Waratahs made 3 handling errors inside the Bulls 22.

Time spent inside the oppositions 22 in the 2nd half, Waratahs 4 minutes and 26 seconds compared to the Bulls who spent 1 minute and 40 seconds

And because I know someone will ask tactial kicks from the hand, including errors, Waratahs 31, Bulls 30

Didn't see who was the AR, but if it was Legoete his ref stats are in the Super15 mean if you want him anywhere its better he is running the flag. He's #2 (so 2nd highest) for awarding penalties at an average of 22.3 per game, #1 for scrum resets averaging 6.7 per game, #2 for scrum infringements at an average of 5.3 per game and #3 for free kicks averaging 2.7 per game. Suggests he might want be itching to be involved...

uncontested scrums - joke - Tahs scored on the back of schoolboys crap - bright light was TPN - very committed for about 71minutes - fantastic to see and great for OZ rugby

I don't think Joubert can be attributed with any blame here: he went on the report he was given, and immediately acknowledged the seriousness of the offence by suggesting a red card was the only option, to which his assistant eventually agreed. I would rather a referee act on a report and make their own judgement regarding the seriousness, rather than the outcome of the B&I Lions test where Schalk only got yellow for a clear eye gouge.

Interestingly Pro Legoete was the referee who sent of Benjamin for a headbutt on Stirling Mortlock, and when he was consulted by the Assistant he did the same as Joubert - saying that the player would go. Surely he would have known that by suggesting a headbutt it would automatically lead to a red card, so perhaps could have chosen his vocabulary better if he was trying to imply that it would not be a sending off. (That's assuming he was not 100% sure of what he saw).

You have to ask the question about the sudden disappearance of Ryan with a shoulder injury after he conceded the penalty before halftime. The uncontested scrums massively favoured the tahs as they did not have any specialist loosehead cover when Robinson got injured. I will be very interested if Ryan is available to play in next weeks game. In France they have two props on the bench to avoid the scrum farce. At altitude the Bulls would have banking on the tahs becoming fatigued - take out the scrum and there is less chance of fatigue

Shoulder injury to a prop - case closed. I don't think there's anything to question there.

Higlanders are being given way too much respect. They are a decent, hard-working side but lack direction from the 10 spot. Tahs are equally as desperate.

Apparently Ryan has damaged his A/C joint and is gone.

agree with the highlanders call, there the tahs of new zealand so it could actually be a good match.
tahs gave it there all, hopefully they have a team to field next week, could be some shute shield props getting a chance.

If the Cheetah's knock off the Sharks (and deny them a BP), which isn't outside the realm of possibility, Waratah's are still in the 6. Chins up.

Sharks and Bulls play each other in the last round. Bulls also have the Stormers next week. Wouldn't write off the Tahs season yet but they'll need a couple of 5 pointers in the next 2 weeks. The conservative shit won't do it from here. Get there Tahs fans and show your support!

Any chance of drafting in a prop not getting much game time from another Aussie team? Like Shep or Rodzilla?
