Jaysus I don't know half those people. With the World Cup I barely watched any Bulls games. Paarl:

1. Can Steenkamp play at 4? I really don't like vd Merwe. Card magnet.
2. Is A Botha an option to replace Stegmann whose game has gone backwards?
3. How good are those backup props?

I like the look of Engelbrecht.

I am going into the Super season with zero expectations.

1 Wilhelm Steenkamp captained the Cheetahs this year and sure grow since he left the Brutes. He will be your best line out lock next year.
2. Arno Botha played for your champion U21 team this year and look like a excellent youngster played SA U20 aswell.

Dawie Steyn signs with Bulls
Johannesburg - Pumas prop Dawie Steyn has signed a two-year contract with the Blue Bulls.
The 27-year-old would play for the Pretoria side in 2012 and 2013, the Bulls said in a statement on Friday.

Steyn was born in Pretoria, schooled there and attended the University of Pretoria, where he played Super Bowl rugby. He represented the Blue Bulls amateur side before embarking on a professional rugby career at the Pumas in 2008.

"It has been a dream of mine all my life [to sign with the Bulls]," Steyn said.

"Make no mistake, I loved my time at the Pumas and will always be very appreciative to them for the way my career could develop under coach Jimmy Stonehouse, but this is where I have always wanted to be."

Frans Ludeke, the Bulls' Super Rugby coach, said he was impressed by Steyn's performances in recent seasons.

"Dawie will add depth to our front row and we have all seen the importance of having that," Ludeke said.

"He has all the attributes associated with Bulls front rowers and should add real value to our effort. I would also like to thank the Pumas for their professionalism in the way they handled the release of Steyn to us."

There are a lot of SA youngsters coming through in this years CC at the Brutes, WP, Lions, Cheetahs and Griquas. Can start easily a thread about them but maybe will be better to give more advise as soon as the S15 2012 season starts.

About time we have a beard in our front row. :)

I went to Nylstroom Hoerskool. Tough place.

I have no doubt that this young Brute side will be competitive. They struggled in the early CC compo, but show their mettle towards the end when they had to beat the Lions at home. They may have plenty of new faces but they dont lack the mongrel of what we are use to them.

October
14 Blue Bulls 92 21 Leopards Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria
08 Griquas 48 44 Blue Bulls GWK Park, Kimberley
September
30 Blue Bulls 47 12 Pumas Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria
24 Lions 18 21 Blue Bulls Coca-Cola Park, Johannesburg
17 Blue Bulls 28 20 Western Province Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria
10 FS Cheetahs 22 22 Blue Bulls Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein

Dont be fooled by the fact that they havent made the semis, they fight like hell till the bitter end to be part of it.

They were running last on the CC log for quite a while I think weren't they? It was a good comeback to get them within reach of the semis.

Should be an interesting year, Hougaard at 9 will be good, but WTF is Spies still doing there ??? I guess they have to keep a few players from the last squad. Spoilt for pace on the wings, hope Basson gets a bit of ball (but not against the reds thanks!).

So my guess for the top side currently would be.....

1-Greyling
2-Rallepelle
3- Kruger
4- van der Merwe
5- Steenkamp
6-Steggman
7- D.Potgieter
8- Spies
9- Hougaard
10-Steyn
11-Basson
12- Olivier
13- Sadie
14- Ndungane
15- Kirchner

Not much depth given from that squad Paarl gave, they'll still be solid but I think will finish a fair way behind the Stormers and Sharks in the SA conference.

Did Vermark have a falling out with the Lions?

He had a long think about moving and is still on the Lions books. Will be released since the Lions contracted young Cronje (Hansies nephew) from the Sharks, one of a twin, the other twin plays 10. Bondisio x Leopard scrummie also played some great rugby for the Lions.

Jac Potgieter who they signed from EP Kings have past D Potgieter I think. He is another awesome flanker. I also will pick JJ Engelbracht in the Twins place without any doubt. Forgot to add Lionel Cronje (Stormers) to their sqaud and pretty sure he'll push for either the 15 or 10 jersey.

Johann Sadie & Lionel Cronje at the Brutes practise.

Brutes started their preparation yesterday for 2012. Big news is that the Sharks Kenian, Daniel Adongo will start this week at his new franchise this week.

Should be interest who will lead the Brutes in 2012.

They both need to do some ab work.

Yeah no idea who will captain. D Pottie isn't a guaranteed starter. Chilliboy?

If I ever I were to develop a fatal illness I'll just listen to Enya and end it instantly.

If he can jump in the lineout he is welcome to it though. With earphones only.

He could be joking, I've read some wacky stuff on player profiles. For example all the front rowers on the Waikato provincial website one year had their max bench-presses listed at like 80kg.
