First rounds are always scrappy ... And local derbies are tight... Refs are always on the whistle in their early dusty rounds too...
Brumbies forwards will prove to much in the end and the brumbies backs toolarge fast and skillful... Brumbies at home should win by a few... It will be physical thats for sure...

shit tranquility - I just hope you are right

BUT the reality is that Pocock will be incredibly motivated to get on top of Gilly BECAUSE he knows that he then has to outplay Hooper decidedly to regain the OZ 7 jumper

Reds have not played well in round 1 in any of the last 3 years.

Going to take a big effort from the pack to jag a win in Canberra.

I like where this is going, but I don't entirely follow?

just a silly gag about pocock returning from a long injury lay off (joint probs was it not?) and mashed the two together (by cutting some of your post to make it 'work')

It obviously didn't work tho as shown by your and scrubbers reaction!

Interesting call, so assuming Fardy is fit he will partner Carter at lock then

Reds by 14.
Genia and Cooper on fire again, back line oooozing class, breakdown too physical for the ponies, and a sharp and astute up and coming coach at the helm.
No brainer.

that looks a weakish bench for the Tahs.

BJ any word on why Tevita isn't starting? Just match fitness?

McCabe and Smith (and their excellent loose trio) won't let through enough attackers to let the game get 14 points away from them.

That being said, I expect the Reds to win IF we start seeing the Tapui of old. I really do think he's the key man as he's the only 1 of the 4 starting centres who's more than just a solid player.

They're all good at the tough stuff, but Taps on form has offered more.

Looks like Butler made the right decision and is taking his opportunity, needed 2 or 3 injuries for him to run on in QLD. That said the Brumbies backrow looks less intimidating than it potentially could have. The centres are also less dangerous than i imagined. Optimism has increased slightly.

Great to see JB starting.

Is a quality player and a quality bloke, but unfortunately couldn't find the opportunities at the Reds.

He'll be the only Brumbies player I'll be cheering to do well!
