This comment comes across a tad tactless.
Why? It's just a light hearted comment. Although it is true that many Pacific Islander boys (including Kiwis) are coming to Brisbane and getting a good education and refining their rugby skills at some excellent rugby schools. If Queensland nurtures them, why shouldn't the Reds benefit? Its a bit different to a rugby province just picking off the talent once developed.

Expecting this to be a dour affair unlike some. I think the match will take the same route as recent previous games between the two. Reds will try and spread the ball early looking for early points. Brumbies defence, if still as potent as last year will hold out. At least 2 or 3 penalty goals in the first 15 minutes. If any team get any ascendency at the breakdown the rulebook will be thrown out the window and we will get a turgid affair with the ball being killed at every oppurtunity by the defending team. Maybe a try or two, the winner will be the last team to earn a penalty near full ime within kicking distance to give a 1 point win.

Yes and all of that is fine but you're not talking about people coming from another Western nation because the working market is better, you're talking about a collection of Polynesian ethnicities. Tbh, the way you phrased it in your first post sounds pretty racist.

I can see the tongue-in-cheek intention, which is why I wasn't quick to cry racism, but you use phrases like "refugees from the pacific islands" and claim to "educate them, clothe them, raise them, support them." We are after all talking about several ethnicities from developing nations here.

To say it's tactless is fair.

You're being a bit precious I think. I have nothing but respect for these young blokes.

You get the idea that James Leckie is going to leave his mark all over this game.

Turner in the corner after a wide ball from Cooper. Hint of obstruction as Cooper ran behind a few dummy runners.

Leckie continues to make his presence felt.

Horwill trying to work the ref.

Electric from Toua!

Wide ball from Cooper, 60m run beating about 3 guys and burning a few more for pace!

Reds 14 - 6 up, 23 gone. Brumbies led 6 - 0 early and were dominating until those two tries.

White kicks the ball out off the full for the second time off the kick off, to go along with one in general play.

Both teams have missed penalties at goal, Cooper's just going under.

Reds scrum looks on top as well as well, walking the Brumbies back a little.

Leckie's random number generator gives Cooper another attempt at goal, which is just to the left.

Toua kicks one out on the full this time, poor kick.

Brumbies are better the breakdown.

Brumbies holding onto the ball with ease, until they get a penalty for Holmes and Cooper being offside.

Slipper put on a big tackle on Alexander.

Brumbies over! Mogg gets on the outside of Turner, with Turner tackling Mogg as he went over the line, Gone to the TMO as Turner got his hand under him, and it looks like no try.
