I think the Brumbies have a game plan, of sorts, but it just doesn't look like a plan that will win games. Incredible if the Bookies have the Reds as outsiders.

Yeah, they also had the Reds at long odds against the Jaguars, I think everyone is under rating the Reds (except the Reds fans who are likely the other way :p ).

9) Lucas

Um WTF does Tuttle have his leg in a moon boot or something?! Actually no he could have his non-kicking foot in a moon boot and I'd still probably prefer him playing 9 over Lucas.

WOW I posted that too soon, I didn't even get to the juicy stuff.
  • No Paia'aua!
  • Nabuli still at 11!
  • 18 year old Jordan Petaia in the 23 (not sure if this is good or bad but it's dripping!)
Good to see the forwards are holding to form.

Tui from the bench.
DP not in the 23.
What do we know about Petaia?
Wasn't Smith due about know? Big step for Korczyk if he is managing to keep the bloke out - though I still prefer him at 6.

Petaia was okay in the trial game I think at 13 outside Paia'aua IIRC. He could be the goods, but is (18.24 for reasons) still very raw.

Smith and Perese were pushed back to next week against the Waratahs. Not sure if complacency given the Brumbies form or playing the long game and not rushing them back because this season isn't the goal.
I think given both Higgers and Tui have come back via the bench Smith and Perese will do the same, I think if Smith comes back into the starting side it has got to be for Korczyk, and not for Timu -- Timu gives us so much needed attacking ability. Not that Smith wouldn't but that we wouldn't likely need the boost to our defence that both Smith and Korczyk would give.

But there are a few chillies in the side that's for sure.

Also sad to see Fagase drop out of the 23 - always was a fan of the bloke. Tough getting a jersey in the front row at the Reds.

Watched Petaia from Club rugby this year and has had looked impressive. I don't know if his ready for super rugby. But I have had on 2 occasions my own concerns how Daugunu was going to transition from NRC and then to Super Rugby and both times it has been Brad Thorn proven correct with Daugunu being the superstar he was at the Kennel he was for QLD Country and now for the Reds.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Petaia probably gets a token 5-10 minutes at the end of the game when the Reds have their 20+ point lead in the bag and the brumbies on the rope.

Thorn always has rotated the Forwards on first and put the outside backs on during the last 10-15 minutes.

Jesus, I'm not confident the Reds will score 20 points let alone score 20 points more than the Brumbies. But yeah, I suspect he'll get a token amount of time assuming the game isn't in the balance.

Thorn loves passing out those jerseys to as many as he can.. J Petaia, to young for Super Rugby.. plenty of well deserved club guys would love a run & a Reds cap.

This is Case Study A: "Trolling"

I bait and then hope a Brumbies fan takes the hook, line and sinker.

Although i did predict earlier in the week the Reds would win by 3 tries.
