Gatland quote on FoxSports:
I know what he's getting at but couldn't resist saying that it doesn't say a lot for them when the Ponies scored the only try. And for someone who, "playing rugby" is important, he coaches a side that sure as hell takes a lot of penalty kicks/drop goals when they have plenty of forward momentum and could push for a try!
But enough of that crap! Great performance and great and well deserved win Brumbies! Loved every minute of it. At times the kicking duels were tiresome, at other times they were fascinating. The set piece battle was very entertaining, from Best falling to pieces and trying to pull himself back together, to Noodles getting into everything, to the scrum dominance swaying from side to side it was dramatic and enthralling.
The only possible downside is that of the three blueprints tossed up by the Reds, Tahs and Ponies, only the Ponies one got the result which gives Deans the backing he needs to play a similar gameplan. This is fine if the Wallabies can execute with the relentlessness and accuracy that the Brumbies did but I have my doubts that they can. Anyway, can't wait to see what happens this weekend! What a fantastic Tour so far - it's had it all!

"They didn't play any rugby, they just kicked a lot of the ball and competed really hard at the breakdown and tried to frustrate us and were successful.''
