Mortlock's out so Tyrone Smith is taking his place with Andrew Smith coming onto the bench.
Jerry Yanuyanutawa is also on the bench in place of Guy Shepherdson.

In other news Julian Huxley is playing in the Runners team against West Harbour on Saturday night.

Good good and good. Alexander to finish games at tight head althought Ma'afu could stay on. Cya Shep.

I found this game the hardest to tip this week, Brumbies have scraped 4 in a row with the same team, but due to weather and travel have failed to set the world on fire. Now they're changing personnel and heading to Auckland against a pretty decent Blues outfit...

How long is Shep signed for? Could be off to the Rebels... with the timing and Fitzy heading down the hume...

Gotta tip the Blues. They are under huge pressure. Unless the Brumbies can suddenly translate the potential on paper.

Brumbies for mine,

Moses - Shep and Benny A signed till next year. Palmer, Maafu and Jerry Y for the year after.

Although there is some suggestion the 2nd year of SHep's contract is an option. I am not so sure.

Very tough one... Tyrone in for Mortlock makes me almost sway towards the Brumbies...

If Smith plays well, is there a chance Mortlock will get an extended rest?

You could argue he has already outplayed him when he has come off the bench.

Here is an early prediction: Andrew Smith, named on the bench this week, will play Oz A and, perhaps, make the EOYT this year. From what I've seen and heard, he is a good player and has the game to go further.

That Brumbies team has got to click sooner or later.

Very same has got to be said of the Blues. Getting really pissed off with them as a franchise. They had no excuse for not beating the Canes. Their only shining light this year has been beating the Reds at home, which as time has gone on, has proved to be no easy picking.

He had a terrific game for the Runners last Sunday playing outside centre and looked every inch a Super14 player albeit against the JWs. So did Huxley and Mafi.

I wouldn't be surprised if your prediction comes true, but he will have to get precedence over Tyrone Smith at the Brumbies to put his hand up. You never know though - look at Dave Dennis - Deans can look beyond the S14.

In my eyes he's a fellow that could jump over the likes of fringe Oz players such as Ryan Cross and then anything could happen. He can kick goals too. Let's see how he goes from the Brumbies bench and watch this space.

Well Ranger did the damage out wide with some poor defense from Tyrone. Happy with the Brumby forwards although too many mistackles and errors. Blues scrum was absolutely smashed again.

no brumbies fans on? Blues were a Different team after oranges. Rene Ranger was huge. any concerns with Elsoms form?

Elsom was excellent I thought. Line breaks big tackles, turnovers.

A bit tough on Tyrone I think. Ranger is a lot of player to stop when he is like that.
