Brumbies 2020

In respect of what to do with Kata, many believe that the Reds post Kerevi attack is more threatening so maybe the Brumbies might want to take a leaf out of their book and take the opportunity to give Kata an opportunity@13. It could rejuvenate or even reinvent the Brumbies attack.

Since last year when TK has been visible, it when he is out wider (not a bad move attacking move) but it takes away the run threat through the centre. I believe he is now (as of last season) needing more space to operate and the centre positioning no longer works for him as it did in the past.

As for Simone, I am not sold on him as being the right option @12. For a big unit he doesn't really threaten the line. As a playmaking option he doesn't provide much.

It will be interesting to see how it evolves over the season.

Bugger! Sad news. Really feel for him. Significant loss off our roster. Good opportunity for Bo Abra.

Bummer. So early in the (pre)season sucks. Hopefully he has a smooth recovery.

It'll be interesting to see how this growing trend of playing in Japan over the summer works out with regards to the durability of returning players.

Is Bo in the extended squad? I thought he was a LHP anyway.

First choice props should remain Sio/Slipper at LHP and AAA at THP. Vui now gets to show what he can do at THP off the bench. All going well, we can hopefully use the Rd18 clash against the Sunwolves as an opportunity to test Lloyd and Ross.

We've got one of the best 13s in the world, particularly in the way he manages that defensive channel. I'd not be moving TK for love nor money.

I think the Kata situation will entirely depend on how Simone kicks on this season. If he turns it on and you can see the backline click, he'll stay at 12. However, if Wright gets his opportunity in the side, then it's pretty certain that Kata will either start on the wing or be the reserve winger. Totally depends on how McKellar wants to use Muirhead.

Lots of Talk of Kata as a 12 as well, good problem to have, lots of options and may end up with 10 BK 12 Lolesio

But that's probably a long way off.

I think Simone is really going to kick on this season and own that 12 spot. He seemed to be coming into his own towards the end of last season and has thr skill and physicality to be a real success.

We have been waiting for Simone to kick- on since 2013.

Agree with all of that Roffy, esp about TK.

With a novice at No 10, it will be imperative to have established players at 9 and 12 imo. Hence, Simone to me is a certain starter at 12. Better even that both Powell and Simone have play making capabilities.
