I've heard that Lealiifano will play in the Reds v Brums game on Friday. Awesome news if true
Going miss JB , but with Poey at 7.. probably looking for a big boppa at 8 and tall fast at 6.Jarrad Butler off to Connacht
Some people on the Tigers forum are saying that Lachlan McCaffrey has signed a contract with the Brumbies.
If Smiler and Alcock are on 1 yr Japanese deals then the Brumbies could use them, again, however if on 2 yr deals (non flexible) then the Brumbies will need another big flanker and a backup 7 / pocock combo.
I imagine they are looking VERY closely at Force and Rebels players because that's a couple holes that they could fill from there. Timani & Fainga'a or a RHP & Hardwick
.Hardcock has a ring to it.
Is McCalman not still an option? He's got "no-frills Brumby" written all over him.
I think next year will be a year too soon for Valetini, but if he goes well in the NRC you could look at Fakaosilea (raw but he's got something). You could also play Poey at 8 and Cusack at 7 (there's potential there) or even back Hyne in as a Fardy type 6.
I'm sure he is but a while ago I read he was keen to go home to NSW so just a thought.
Cusack, Hyne, Poey, Valetini, fakasolia and mccaffrey now. I imagine they will try and pick up 1 more experienced/quality player. Hyne is ok, Fakasolia is ok, Cusack is ok, but Ok won't help them defend their Aus conference win.
In my mind I see it like this, so if I was list manager at the Brumbies, I would say losing Fardy, such a key and outstanding player, requires to make an effort to get someone who is as good as we can get that's potentially available. Priority signing. They got Mccaffrey which I would put on par with Smiler, but if they want to effectively replace Fardy, they will need to do better then promote from within.
6/8s.
Tier 1 Mccalman & Timani (Fardy)
Tier 2 RHP Mccaffrey Naisarani (Smiler)
Tier 3 Valetini fakasolia hyne Cottrell Stander (Butler)
Tier 4 Leota Fox Sinclair
With the force sadly looking most likely to go, they the highest number of quality 6/8s to be made available
The ACT Brumbies are hopeful they can strike a deal with the ARU to keep Aidan Toua at the club next year as they prepare to play without the speedy back for the first time in two years.
Toua has been ruled out of the rest of the season after injuring his ankle last week, and it is understood he has signed a deal to play in the Japan Top League at the end of the Super Rugby campaign.
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.........However, the ARU is taking a tough stance on players doubling up on contracts in a bid to stem the flow of talent leaving Australia.
