It's a classic case of the media saying 'how far can I take this throwaway conversation about how well Walker played in the 10s and how the Brumbies are short on wings'.

Didn't realise Taliauli was injured. That's sad, could've been his year. So much potential. Still only 23 though, so he has a couple more years to really 'break out'.

No. I believe the 10s was the Brumbies' last trial before the season starts.

They had two trials prior to the 10s.

Larkham has ruled out Walker getting a contract, insisting that a specialist 9 is the priority.

Drew Mitchell is not an option and has also been ruled out.

He also says there are 3 posiitons up for grabs but hasn't mentioned where they are.

I suspect they are 2/7/8

BH81 is on the money a couple of posts above. Brumbies apparently opted for early trials this year and a bit of a break leading into Round 1.

Your thoughts on Hamlin? Is he a real option or an interim stopgap until a better option is found?

I am assuming that Lonergan might be a talent but is too young and raw to be any more than bench cover at best.

Obviously bringing back Dowsett or giving Gale a go would be ok, but I'm thinking guys based in Japan who are now on break. Ben Lucas or Andy Ellis

It won't be Ellis after he rejected them earlier and Dowsett is now at Worcester.

He said he want's someone with experience.

Gregan isn't contracted and lives locally. He's pretty experianced.

Personally, I'd like to see Nic White come back, if only to get up the noses of other teams' fans.

Thanks BJ. I wasn't seriously suggesting Nic, just mentioned him to get under the skin of some rather thin-skinned posters on here.

Having said that, though, I do look forward to him returning when his contract runs out - hopefully.
