I still think the Brumbies marketing department could learn off the Reds. It was genius whoever decide that the Reds should diversify in to TV while RG was coach and make the best of it.

I can only imagine that moment during one of the Reds home games when someone at the Reds marketing department was looking out across the crowd and went "thats it!". We can spin some dollars from the RG yet!

The only positives I see is that it boosts our % in locally produced players and he's a better 12/13 cover than Andrew Smith.........

But shouldn't we be saving our cash for possibly a quality international flyhalf on a short term contract?

So I am pretty sure the Bernie has signed his Wallaby contract as if not he better be hoping its not performance based.

I am starting to think that Bernie to the Wallibies will be a good thing all round; so I think if he goes in say early May ready for the June tests it could be a good thing.

As for players, I would be really supportive if the Brumbies, as a thank you gesture, did some early release for player departing at the end of their contacts so they can get a head start on their next pre-season. So the likes of the Fainga'a twins can head to Japan in say March after having a few weeks off ready for an early pre-season.

Bongo again is looking good as our goal kicker and does anyone know if he can play 10?

FFS- this is going to be long and painful!

I was reasonably impressed with Sinclair's play in the NRC, so might be an ok pickup, but probably not offering a whole lot more than Jooste atm. There were better performed No 10s (apparently without current Super Rugby contracts) in the Mitre 10 Cup, but please not Marty Banks.

My pick for Captain for 2017 is Sam Carter. Not too many options though.

Haven't heard confirmation of Mack Mason going to the Tahs, but he'd be another consideration. Basically leaves you with a couple of young tens but they may feed off each other and deliver some positive showings.

Banks is signed in Italy long term. I think he sees himself as getting the Italian 10 or 15 jersey for the 2019 WC.

Tahs? I heard Force.

Interesting at the Tahs as they've got plenty of promising 10s.

I hope not. I think Arnold being a wallaby has one lock spot locked down and I'd like to see Enever and Staniforth given more game time.

Captain options probably include Fardy, Alexander, and Butler. My tip is Butler.
