Are you sure? I don't think that's what this article says. http://www.planetrugby.com/news/townsend-names-his-assistant-coaches/

Definitely. http://thescotlandteam.com/2016/10/27/townsend-confirms-future-scotland-backroom/

Matt O'Connor was assistant then head at Leicester, head at Leinster, then assitant/co-coach at the Reds, backline roles as an assistant.

Taylor was Defensive Coach at the Reds, moved to Glasgow in 2012 and has been the backline coach for Glasgow, and defensive consultant for the National side since then, he's moving into a full time national role because he works well with Toonie and Rennie wants Senior assistants (Keeping the "junior" ones like Blair and Flynn on).

CLL, or is that too soon and he's too inexperienced?

To early for Lilo. Im sure he would have aspirations of playing in 2018 all things going well.

How about Heyneke Mayer the old Springboks coach? Stuart Lancaster? Both coaches with a point to prove. I'd love to see Laurie Fisher come back but I doubt he would be motivated by a third bite.

ACT Brumbies face defining moments as Super Rugby axe hovers over Australian rugby

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/rug...to-avoid-super-rugby-axe-20161028-gscszj.html

Although just an opinion its a reality check.

Some think too much damage has been done to recover quickly enough, the reality is the hopes depend on several key events unfolding.

The appointment of a CEO that has no connection or association with the Brumbies or any of the Board. If there is even a hint of nepotism the low level of support, distrust and lack of confidence from the members, supporters and community will continue.

Once appointed the board, including the Chairman, needs to be totally cleansed of any members who were their during the Jones saga. Its the only way trust will be reinstalled in the Brumbies as an organisation and the best hope for the divide in the rugby community to be healed.

They need to perform and need a coach than can replace Larkham and capture heart and minds quickly through on-field performances. If not winning then being competitive and reasonably attractive and exciting to watch.

Need a lot of luck and may even need some sort of miracle.

Even as a Brumbies supporter I can clearly acknowledge there is merit in the argument to retain the Force over the Brumbies.

The Force fans are united, the Brumbies community remains divided.

  1. Ala'alatoa is the Wallaby back-up THP. Surely he is first choice prop.
  2. Alcock is a good back-up, but is not a starting-quality loosie. Butler is the same.
  3. Maybe 6. Staniforth, 7. Alcock, 8. Fardy would be optimum. Still doesn't fill me with optimism. Best Aussie Super lineout though.
  4. The elephant in the room is 10. On what I've seen, Jooste will never make it and I can guarantee he is not ready for 2017. There is no one else. No team ever went well in Super Rugby without a top flight 10 and the Brumbies do not have one.
  5. I'd agree Dargaville is the best 15, but that says it all. He's probably 12 months away from being ready. Would Larkham pick him over Toua?
That in my view is not a solid Super Rugby side and if injuries strike in specific positions it could be calamitous. On paper, they could easily end up bottom of the conference. Still, that's just on paper.
Brumbies without doubt have the weakest super rugby squad amongst oz sides for 2017. Expect it to be tough year.

Nah, we're stronger across the board than the Force except for flyhalf and fullback........

We're also better covered than the Rebels in many positions too.

Yeah? I think your 'team cohesion' is better than the Force, but man-to-man I doubt it.

Nah, definitely man to man with the exception of Coleman, McCalman, Lance, Morahan on one wing, and DHP..........

But even with this case of Coleman the Brumbies have better set piece locks.

Anyways, as I said earlier in the thread the Brumbies have lost a few notable players and are without a flyhalf for now..........

But it's a far stretch to say that they now have the weakest squad, when you take into account the lack of notable recruitment from some of the cellar dwellers from last year.

Force will have a better "seige" mentality than the Brums.

Brums have lost some great players and leaders. Larkham's last season - don't think he is an inspiring coach.

The off field dramas are yet to be finalised.

The Force know they are in a fight for retention in the competition, the Brumbies don't !

It's going to be a very interesting Super season

^^^^ Using Qld Mungo SOO eligibility criteria the Banjolanders will take anyone.

Trouble with you New South Welshmen is that you still think the map should be as in 1788
