Wow. If pocock does come Id almost expect the Brumbies to win it next year. Bad news for the Force, all hope will be gone for them.

If Pocock leaves, the Force will survive, and maybe even do better like the Reds after Barnes left.
All this talk, however, is only balone stirred up by those who don't want Pocock to go to the Brumbies, and hope the Force will respond by offering Pocock $1m a year.
What is the source of this story? Just stirrers.
I doubt that even if Pocock has made a decision he would tell anybody before season end.

I disagree. That's just when the real hope of the right type of Force revival will commence.

The core structures governing Australian rugby mitigate against accountability and responsibility for results. The Boards of the RUs and ARU effectively are able to self-excuse and self-perpetuate until such a large external shock and/or internally induced crisis occurs that they have no choice but to reform and effect genuine change of all of board, management and operating philosophy.

If Pocock leaves, the Force's board will I suspect recognise that the ONLY model that's both proven and well-suited to their needs is that of, approximately, the late 2009 Reds and the late 2011 Brumbies. Namely (1) top flight coach happy to build up a team of low-profile, low-ego 'unknowns' and (2) the consistent quality of developing players high on potential but requiring excellence of team culture and technical coaching support to mature into more accomplished players and (3) positive team environment emphasising selfless team work over star plays and flashy one outs.

When the Force board is able to appreciate that their 'Hollywood' model of star recruitment coupled with poor coaches has been a disaster for them, only then can they genuinely embrace where the most recent, relevant evidence of how you get successful rugby franchise revival, points.

If Hodgson was out of contract, I would probably pick him instead.
Great work rate, lower profile, he just fits the new Brumbies mold better.

Why? Is he that much better than Hooper?
Surely it will make a difference to the Brumbies but you're getting too excited.

Yes he is much better then Hooper. Pocock is one of the worlds best. Hooper is only one of super rugbys best.

And I hope everyone is right about the Force, but I dont see them being competitive in the next few years.

Rumours are starting to spreed quickly about the Pocock News. Reported both at superxv.com and SMH.

I was going to say, Pocock is possibly the best player in Australia right now, and one of the best in the world. Hooper isnt bad, but Pocock is a massive step up.
Hooper might be there one day, but Pocock is the current openside benchmark in world rugby.

I bloody well hope this rumour is untrue. With Sharpe gone next year, he is our last marquee player really.

Right.

So Pocock guarantees the Brums a title next year.

I am saving this thread.

Look I think it will be awesome if he goes to the Ponies but you lot are getting carried away.

I expect the Brumbies to be very hard to beat next year, but I also think they won't be hitting their peak as a team till 2014.

I don't think so at all. With the way the Brumbies are playing at the moment they could well win it. They just need a player like Pocock who is capable creating moments that turn matches eg a turnover at a key moment, a try saving tackle.

Brumbies are "nearly there" just need a little more edge and some more luck with injuries and we got a bloody good chance. Pocock will add to this tremendously, especially with close games (and there has been quite a few this season).

So please save this thread. If we end up winning you can buy me a case of beer ;)
