No, except in Heinekin Cup of course? Also England have agreements with their clubs that noone can play for test team that isn't part of English club. One of reasons that Farrel became ineligible when going to France, although still playing in combined comp. I understand what you saying etc, just I don't think historically it has made any difference.

Moana Pasifika going down the gurgler. Send Ardie to the Brumbies. Genuinely I feel like such a small change could save Super Rugby. NZR letting a few All Blacks bolster the Aussie teams would lead to more competitiveness and more cross country eyeballs. Will never do it though.

Not sure Ardie would be keen on that anyway. The one thing we can never do is tell players where to go and play. The only winner there is NH clubs and NRL for young fellas.

Yeah - these Youtube numbers probably mean nothing to anyone, but it's all we got! Youtube revenue based on those numbers would be not worth considering

I think the interesting thing to see will be what numbers the highlights from the wallabies lions games do, at least from a YouTube perspective.

These are arguably the biggest games Stan have had, particularly given the horror world cup, so how they compare to some of the other best performing wallabies games might be telling. I think that mark is around 300-400k, with the Quade Cooper last gasp win against South Africa being one of the big ones.

Looks like 3rd test of the last Lions tour in SA is Stan's most popular rugby highlights video at around 340k.

It's something like their 81st most popular across all sports, - mostly champions league, tennis and a bit of boxing

Makes for an interesting yard stick as a Lions game, though it's possible a game played in an unfavourable time zone might get a boost over local ones as standard.

Nine has increased the price for subscriptions to Stan Sport in the wake of securing the broadcast rights for the English Premier League and FA Cup. The 19% price increase kicked in on July 1, seeing Stan Sports users pay a minimum of $32 a month, up $5 from the previous $27 monthly payment.

I know it's the epl and it's huge globally but Optus paying $100 million a year for tv rights to a competition where most games are on at 1am and 3am AEST is crazy. It's not surprising they were running at a loss and will for the next 3 years essentially be paying for Stan to have the tv rights.

We saw this week what happens to Aussie teams when they have a few kiwis, they can't even score a point.

$20 standalone for Stan Sports is getting up there. I really wish they would carve it off as a solo subscription as I honestly don't watch a whole lot of standard Stan content.

I'm guessing aside from the football stuff, the fact we are getting some type of Super AU competition also means there will be more rugby content produced this year to help justify the price increase.

I keep finding things on Stan I want to watch, which I didn't realise were there. I just don't think they do anywhere near as good a job as Netflix in pointing you to the content you want to watch.
