Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Maloney wasn't at the ground, so was calling off the broadcast, and didn't know there was a match winning break until it was all but done
This is the greatest shame in my view. There’s no way anyone can commentate well like that honestly. Even the AFL does it a lot and they are cashed up so I don’t think it will change.

Big Bash do it all the time too. This is why you get those ridiculous moments where the commentators think it's gone for 6 and it ends up being easily caught 20m in from the boundary.

I'd prefer just to take the world feed with commentators actually there over Stan commentating OS games off the TV in Sydney

No, can’t do that for spring tour games: might end up with that English commentator who is an absolute punish on 6 Nations games. Dewi Morris, I think?

I wish you could choose the commentary, with streaming it could not be too difficult for someone like Stan to broadcast the footage and have other people commentate.

an example may be having some podcasters commentate a game or two during the season with the normal footage. Maybe some "super fans" hanging shit on each other through the game could be interesting. Changing the audio cant be too difficult???

Excuse my ignorance, but what are "scam sticks"?

Amazon fire sticks which have been preloaded with pirating software. A bunch of local markets sell them these days ready to go or you can order online and setup yourself. Usually cost around $150 for the base setup which gets you on demand movies and tv and some sports packages.

You can then upgrade them for annual fees (again around $100) and get access to essentially every TV channel in the world and all live sports including pay per views. You can pair with a VPN if you want some extra security as well.

I don’t have one myself but like I said in my post, I reckon at least half a dozen mates have them setup now and are just cutting everything else. I’ve watched some sports and normal TV on them and it’s no different in quality.

Worth noting it compares very well with the Swans v Lions grand final re-match also on last night. Not quite as a high a reach but just 2k short on the average.
AFL game was on delay only to Brisbane and Sydney, which is a fairly bizarre decision by the AFL

One under-rated element of rugby's struggles is just how many ex-waratah supporters were at the game yesterday afternoon in red and white

It's all part of Foxtel's new exclusive Super Saturday arrangement under the new broadcast rights deal.

Whereas previously all matches featuring a non-Victorian team was broadcast live on FTA into their respective market, for the first eight rounds under the new deal those games will now be shown on delay if they fall on a Saturday.

they keep losing and they can experience the joys of a losing team seeing their fans evaporate. The swans have some credits stored up though.

Did anyone have trouble with 9 or stan last night then again I was in Batemans bay could not get the game

I'm dialing-in remotely via Starlink at a location without mobile or phone lines between Warwick and Stanthorpe. I had two delays of 5 or 6 s one in each half. Happy with that. As long as I manage solar/batteries everything seems pretty good, in theory from anywhere in Australia.
