Makes sense Top League broadcast given plans to have champions league type competition with oz, Nz and Japan.
Closer relationships with Japan has to be key to growth for rugby in the region....
Why is it that the least shit commentators in any sport are impartial?
Odd statement. Doesn't align with my experience.
Dave, I'm not wound up about it it just seems strange to me to expect a commentator to be engaged and interested in the sport, but not have a team.

Who owns the rights to the games?
I always assumed that Foxtel would have owned the rights to the games and would not release them to opposition.
Great news though, hope they add more to the catalogue
I'm no expert but broadcasters typically purchase a licence to use/broadcast content from actual content owners, right? It'd be wild if RA sold actual ownership rights.Rugby Australia own the rights and sell them to the highest bidder. When the broadcast provider changes the new one gets access to the back catalog. Would be ridiculous if Fox owned games they wouldn't show. It's the reason that Fox League can show all the old ABC and Channel 9 games.
Considering the number of Aussies playing in Japan it makes a lot of sense that they'd broadcast it here. Also, they are pretty keen for content considering the European leagues seem to be locked up until the end of the year.
I wonder if Stan will pick up US Rugby as well - I imagine it'll be cheap and there's a few few Ex Wallabies out there
I'm enjoying Chek's input so far.
He sounds at ease, some of the other guys seem a little nervous.I'm enjoying Chek's input so far.
Stan picture looks better on my telly than Kayo.
