I got a question for those who have made comments on Brumbies should of taken a couple of goal attempts when they got penalties, do you think they should always take kickable penalties? If so would you rather they took them when a couple of them were converted to tries? A losing captain has as much chance as a ref of getting a fair go on forums, I sure in the ones that weren't taken the leadership group felt they were putting on pressure and as a penalty kick is never (taking the points) as they can get missed often, I always figure when playing the players feel how the game and kicking condition are.

Nowhere near as predictable as Shiggins thinking that any team that beats an Aussie team is full of grubs or the amount of ref whinging that goes on here when an Aussie team loses here. Oh....and boohooo - we won't watch the final now.

Dan is 100% correct. Blues fans see the terrible calls and non-calls against them as much as Brumby fans do.

If someone wants to respond to criticisms of certain decisions and argue they were correct that is fine. The “what about x” line simply says “I can’t actually directly respond to your criticism so I’ll make a deflection.” All it is is being argumentative for the sake of it.

Correct, it’s the old sliding doors thing - it’s very simplistic to simply add 3 points on to the final tally and assume that would have been the outcome. Once you make an assumption that one of those penalty kicks was taken, regardless of whether it was successful or not you can make no further assumptions about the schedule of point scoring beyond that, only that it may have altered the mindsets of the players at that point in time.

That drop goal attempt though, make lots of assumptions about that....

Yep, I wonder if the DG was called, looked like they were set for it, so are we being harsh on Noah for attempting it? I thought it was low percentage from so far out, but wonder if it was called for. By geez he would of been lorded by all and sundry if he got it.

Shows your rugby care factor though, hell I watched Aus finals last year, I watch NH rugby finals. Hell I will watch WallabyPom tests etc But hen I don't use nic Rugbynutter when I really not.
I will watch final as always, but we have one thing in common RN, I genuinely don't really care who wins it, neither is my team, and when missus asked me who I wanted to win I just shrugged and said whoever plays the best.

You are right maybe should change my Nic. I generally only interested in watching internationals involving non oz teams or a sevens series where short matches. Don’t have time for much else.

As super rugby set up as closed border competition yes due to its less ideal design to me it means yes I won’t watch all kiwi teams in finals as less interest for sure.

This is a personal viewpoint but the closed border nature of the competition ie if you play for all blacks you must represent a kiwi team also puts me off interest in watching super rugby finals not involving oz teams, as I don’t think the competition design supports fair equalisation of talent across the super rugby footprints. That hence yes puts me off watching all kiwi team matches.

What would make me watch all kiwi super rugby matches…not sure but yeh maybe if they created a competition that I felt was designed so each team had more chances to win eg open borders policy with quotas, and where latter maybe saw some oz players playing for kiwi teams.

Anyhow that is just me but with all kiwi final yes you do lose a large chunk of your oz tv audience so the questions for all the stakeholders is how do you change that. Or do they feel this is a big enough of an issue to try and change that. Hence probably better to answer those questions then to get into my own reasons why won’t watch all kiwi finals.

Yes but the headline would have been “Lolesio slots miracle drop goal to win game”. It was a low percentage play no matter if he makes the shot, there is a reason not many games are won by 45m drop goals.

Yep, do you think he called it or senior players/captain is more what I meant, it really looked like they had set for the kick, and that usually from a call. I do agree one of the more experienced players perhaps could of carted it up further, I was just suggesting that noone should be to harsh on Noah, as he still a young player that seemed to be part of a set play.
I still like the look of him as a 10, and think he will be a quality test 10, and hope he doesn't cop too much criticism for missed attempt.

It seems to be a directive. Under-punishing foul play and then winding back suspensions has been a consistent theme running through the entire tournament which has had some pretty poor discipline throughout.

Won't be surprised when the Wobs and ABs cop a lot of cards this year.

I think a big reason for the loss was not replacing Hooper immediately when he was injured. I am not sure why; whether they didn't think it was that bad?

But from the drop-out he knocked on, leading to a period of Auckland dominance and a big change of momentum.

I feel a bit more confident about the Test season now.

Blues will be at home Wamb. Blues have many more dangerous players than the Cru this year and the game is theirs for the taking.

I think it went exactly how it should have and did... I thought they should have got 3 when 8 behind then chased the try. But just me with how the game was.

Yep I must admit I think if you 8 points down the kick is in my opinion well worth taking if it a reasonable chance, and it did cross my mind then.

I always remember how good the poms were doing that in 03 LB, and thought someone in front of Lolesio should of done that, in 03 Martin Jiohnson did it before the ball went to Wilkinson, and why I always give him credit for the droppie as much as Wilkinson.
