Haven't watched the Brumbies this year but if they are the best Australian team then we are in for a poor showing in the finals. Lots of silly errors from the them, some lost lineouts and a lost ball on their scrum feed. They need to do a lot better if they don't want the Waratahs to overtake them.

I had been hearing good things about Nic White but for all the good things he does he matches with a lot of bad, silly things. He needs to pull his head out of his arse. His constant rants at the ref and linesmen were not helping his team. He also did too many long passes that dipped (one to one of the Smith twins comes to mind). In the first half he was taking ages to get the ball out of the ruck allowing the Blues plenty of time to settle their defensive line.

I also thought Lealifano ran with the ball too much when he should have used his faster men outside. Speight didn't get enough ball.

I thought Fardy and Pocock played well and I like the look of that Jordan Smiler.
Kaino was simply superb.

Remember we lost To'omua as well Sio early .. well too early
Not that early. And the play did pick up a bit in the second half. I mean by that they actually passed the ball more than once of the ruck.

I also think the Brumbies forwards were very narrow and one out.
In the first half Carter in particular was very inaccurate in his work and gave away far too many penalties. A very Simmons like performance.

I would like to think Carter got hard done by.. It's what I bitched about at half time, he didn't change his game in the second half.. in the first half it just seemed he was picked for no real reason..the calling of offside was correct, but Carter being called for it was rubbish.. it was the backs up too quick.. It wasn't a Simmons performance at all.. they weren't dumb penalties just unlucky..

Agree we werent in the game till after they were gone.. but Id like to think if To'omua was still out there we would have snuck that home

A very disappointing game and a real worrying trend is beginning to creep in on the back of last weeks game and the Waratahs game before that.

The Brumbies couldn't get into their usual rhythm until it was too late and if they had of won, it would have been a real shame for the Blues who weren't great themselves but deserved it .

They needed to be a bit smarter because the Blues were just waiting for them on numerous occasions and the backs couldn't find the holes like they did against the Cheetahs.

I hope the kicking yips aren't back for Lealiifano because that one in front was a very bad miss.

No one else touches my BBQ. It is a cross I have to bear. Games can be caught up on via the IQ, but the BBQ is mine and mine alone.

I wouldnt say Nic White had a bad game, he spoke to much and missed the last kick.. but mostly his very good.. We just didn't get there.. Poey was a demon.. there is something seriously crazy about how he gets into a ruck and with half luck his first half woudl have had 2 more turn overs which went against the Brumbies (other players).. In tight he is just a beast..

Come on mate, he was woeful. He's attributed with 5 turnovers (just in the stats). He made a good decision to pass for their try but other than that, nope. He puts his hands on the ball at the back of the ruck and just stays there. Threw sloppy passes (wet), had kick charged down. And I give him extra shit points for absolutely berating the referees all game.

Congrats to the Blues, nice for them to get the win but quite lucky not to concede a penalty try when they collapsed that rolling maul that was pretty much a dead cert try.

But that's rugby, sometimes things go your way.

That wasn't his fault though waiting .. you can't throw the ball to no one.. specially in the wet.. He wanted runners .. he didn't get them..

Hence my comments about attack structures. One pass off ruck, nobody in motion etc. I have to agree with ACR though, this has become a feature of White' s game, the slow wayward service. Even his real strength, his kicking game had been erratic. Thinking on it more I have to say on actual form he is at fighting to be third on the pecking order for 9 with Genia and if a call had to be made between the two I wouldn't go with white on potential for Genia to get back to somewhere near his best.

Which Genia, the one who labors around why the Red's get plumbed.. or Phipps who gets there and throws but doesn't know where... Or White who loses his shit too quickly and goes to rubbish..

I use to think White would be the answer after Genia failed because he has the best all round game, but there's something off.. and I hate to say it but Phipps gets there and gets it out.. we ain't strong at half back and maybe the quicker its to our backs the better..

Im half pissed so if you disagree that's cool :)

Yeah it didn't look good for To'omua. Looked a nasty incident. Shame really, he is the glue man for that Ponies backline in both attack and defence.

White was far too ponderous. Did a couple of good things, but man he stifled the attack. I thought the tight forwards for the Brumbies weren't looking to carry but we're hanging off for the breakdown.

Tough last kick for White, he had the distance but was just wide. Lilo's miss was Giteau-esque.....

Well done Kaino. He was superb.

Ill be cool and disagree to a small extent, I think Phipps whilst not as good as last year is still clearly the best 9 in Oz with the fastest clearance that is 99% accurate (alright 90%). White used to be 2nd best but that margin has blown out this year and whilst Genia is as you say, slow and laboured and his potential is higher than White, whose great strength and point of difference (his kicking) has also failed him. ATM if the Wallabies were named tomorrow I'd be going with Phipps, Genia and Stirzacker to learn off the former two. You might want to consider pacing the drinking to get you through the rest of the season if To'omua is out for a while, he is the key IMO and the liver can only take so much punishment.

I think you cloud your judgement of White for your dislike of him, he is much better then the ranga from the south and playing better then Genia.. His kicking has been pretty good all season to be honest look back and see how many he put 5m out.. he missed a couple but his going for 40 meters not 10.. He controls a game better then Phipps ever has and his pass is usually better.. His just becoming disliked.. as he yaps too much.. and loses his shit.. sort that and he's gold..

On form White has been the best Australian 9 so far this year..........

He was poor tonight and against the Tahs, but let's not choose to forget the other half a dozen games he performed strongly in..........

If we only had 2 halfbacks going to the RWC it would be Phipps and White with daylight third..........

White needs to take hold of his mental state, and learn to handle shitty refereeing better........... because when he gets into a negative mindset he falls apart.............
