I completely agree with the sentiment but not sure if it applies directly to Koribete.

For a tenured professional rugby player his skillset is pretty limited for an outside back - apart from the strong foundations of run hard/ tackle hard (to be fair he didn't need to do more than this during the NRL). I can't see him ever becoming a rounded kicking, passing or even option-taking player.

Koribete is a great athlete but he's not a great footballer - I don't know if that's poor coaching or that he just didn't play enough of the sport growing up to pick up the intricacies.

Kicking and passing are just skills that can be learned and refined with time, practice and dedication.

It's really up to him as to whether he wants to do that - and maybe his coaches.

He needs to have this as part of his game. Obviously only needs to have this as base skill and not looking for him to be the team’s tactical kicker.

Neither Hodge or JOC (James O'Connor) have ever been considered quality Test 10s.

I was surprised QC (Quade Cooper) didn’t at least get on the bench. He is the only 10 in Australian rugby right now who has any decent experience as a winning fly-half.

Quade is still the only 10 in the last decade who put any kind of fear or concern into the opposition. Australia lacks older players and experienced players to help guide these young bloods. Australia was still ranked 2nd and 3rd in the world when QC (Quade Cooper) played and although he may not have had much luck beating the ABs, who has in the last ten years?

Also, apart from his tackling, it seemed like a lot of his issues were off-field.

Which reminds me - Lolesio is no slouch in defence and tackling!

He's not the 'answer' and I have never referred to him as such.

But he is here and Foley isn't (and Foley at his peak was not close to QC (Quade Cooper) at his best) and he has the experience as winning fly-half for the 2nd best team in the world. That kind of knowledge and experience is valuable and on short-supply in the Wallabies.

Didn’t even get his body into the best position to ‘attempt’ a tackle. I can accept a tackle may not be successful a big unit running at a smaller guy which most likely was going to be the out come, but that was not an acceptable attempt in my books didn’t even show the basics taught to primary school kids dropping body height, approach angle etc. I don’t expect fly half’s to do heavy contact but there are situations where it is necessary it’s rugby. That’s the most worrying thing for me about Noah there are just these little things in his game that point to avoiding contact. You teach or learn skills and game management it comes with experience and that will come for him.
Avoidance of contact that’s a sub conscious thing in your DNA pretty much impossible to coach or remove from your game with experience.

If you actually accept we are not a top 3 side it is easier to watch. We need reforms to improve but equally as part of this having RC with other top 10 teams (thereabouts) like Fiji and Japan. Winning against ABs and SA as top 3 sided is going to be aberration for next few years and just is what it is.

Positive was hooper and Kerevi plus finishers..negatives to me was ikatau (invisible so let’s see hunter and Samu in centre’s).also Valetini had another shocker..Wilson or ISI pls to start next game

I see an equivalent situation with the Socceroo's.

We are ranked 35th in the world at Football, if we played the likes of England, Italy, Argentina, Spain 3 times a year how often would we expect to win?

We simply are not good enough to beat the All Blacks and being within striking distance of a win is about all we can expect.

Its true what he says about Richie Mounga but he was finding his feet from the bench and sometimes from within the squad but not the game day 23. Test footy is no place to find your feet. Thats what Super Rugby is for and then being in and around the squad, leading up to game time from the bench and then eventually starting if you demand it.
I understand we are short in this position but once again, it is such a key position and it requires a certain level of experience in the game at the highest level. Noah has done well but what happens if after or during this RC he is discarded having been regarded as a failure? Not fair on him. Play JOC (James O'Connor) or Hodge or recall Foley or Cooper with Noah getting limited game time.
