Well said , even if a ref was biased he would be hard pressed to stop one side from scoring tries on his own for 80 minutes.

so nathan grey - what the fuck were you thinking coming out in the media mid-week talking up your "easy fixes"? there are clearly no easy fixes for a side that missed nearly what, 66% (?) more tackles than their opposition. whatever mojo you had with the 14 tahs looks like its run its course.

dhp once again successfully targetted for multiple tries.

numerous times there was 10-20 metres between last defender and sideline.

whatever issues we have with player performance on the park, our systems have been picked up with precision by two opposing coaches in a row. its time to start working on some "hard fixes" like changing that stupid sliding and giving ground on the edges and replacing it with some line speed and accurate and hard tackling.

Shiggins missed an incident in his forensic analysis, it seems.

An all round very niggly game, and one in which both Franks and Coleman can count themselves lucky not to be cited. I think we can also now agree that there's no grand pro-NZ/anti-Australia conspiracy. Just incompetent citing commissioners.

I admit Shiggins might be an outlier.

I have come to slowly realise that it's going to be a long time till we again win Lord Bles and am consequently tempering my expectations. My anger and frustration watching Australia play NZ is significantly reduced and I'm a happier man for it.

I actually said "it's only a game" 2 weeks ago.

At any given time in the last decade or so, we have had maybe 1-2 players
who would make a genuine World 15, lots of times none.

NZ always have 4-7. Always. The best players in their position in the world. The production line continues to churn them out.

Carter gone, Barrett holy crap.

Go back to a previous successful era of Oz rugby say 90's early 00's.

Guys like Eales, Kefu, Gregan, Larkham, Horan, Little, Roff maybe Tune, Burke guys for extended perioids the best in their position in the world. A lot of the time playing in the same Wob team.

It's difficult to reconcile that times like that aren't going to be the norm and it takes a decade or so to realise it. At times in history our narrow player development base will spurn world class rugby players. Most of the time it won't.

We will continue to be competitive against every other country in the world and float between 2-5 in rankings but we won't consistently beat NZ again until they hit a slightly weaker cycle and we hit a jackpot cycle.

No evidence of either cycle looming anytime soon.

You got to be kidding.

Last week Pocock hit 39 break-downs and had 7 turn-overs. It will be interesting to see what the break-down stats are for this week cos from what I saw he was in a heap again.

Higginbotham?! Nasty?! He was useless against the ABs about 4yrs ago and I doubt much has changed. And he's more grub than nasty.

Would still have Hooper over Pocock any day. At least he can do more than 1 fucking thing.

Also would still have Higginbotham over Mcalman

"Too fuckin' right mate."
--Higginbotham, still clearly hopelessly addicted to quaaludes and tic tacs.

I don't know enough about (what I assume are) fancy modern defensive structures but this alarmed me more than anything. Dagg was able to walk his try in.

What I noticed about one of Dagg's tries was that he stepped left inside two would be tacklers and then out side another two.
There could be no doubting the good intention of the tacklers ...but all four were running the same angle to the corner which exposes them to a step.

I did post a heap of videos showing the lack of whistle for us but I don't believe we would of won if they called even everything. I'm only really pissed off that Frank's has gotten away with what should of been a red card and 10 weeks.

Why are so many people selecting Hooper in the 3-2-1's?

6/9 tackles only - can't recall any being dominate. Can't recall any line-breaks of decent runs. Average ruck stats?

The Hooper-cult just want to give him points, or is it that their just isn't anyone else to give points?

I like Hooper, but I thought last weekend was one of his poorest games.

I am a Hooper fan and was disappointed at his arm tackles and inability to read the All Blacks' step away from his defensive position. He is a very good player who will get back to his best in the next match.

The defence structure out wide was horrible. Foley and DHP all at sea. Heaps of misses and turnstiles. Not sure what nathan grey is doing here but its not working.

I think we should now be more worried about the fact that the ARU did not cite Franks.
Our coach justifiably identified the action as deserving of sanction but if, when the citing commissioner game review rosters etc see it differently we either lodge a complaint or we lose all credibility.
This manages to make this one of the lowest points in rugby's inexorable ebb in this country.

I'd bank the house on the fact the only reason Franks got off was because Cheiks is coming at them with a full house and they needed to soften the incoming fire! Clear and obvious political corruptness!

Particularly given his past history with officials.

If this is part of a master plan, I'm not sure what it is. His record is currently:

2 incidents in Europe >5 years ago involving fines
A cameraman in South Africa
Jaco Peyper at the Cheetahs game

Now this. Walking a fine line without doubt.

Add to that his dummy spitting every time they show the coaches' box and it is not a good look.
