I have had lunch. The empty feeling is gone a little now it is just a sinking feeling.

I am now closer to the TOCC boat, where I am beginning to lose interest, particularly at the Reds level. Something must be done to stop this round about of players.

And on the reason for leaving being that he wanted to play flyhalf. Well bullsh*t. I have no doubt he will line up a 12 for the waratahs at least some of the season, and surely he already knows that.

Yep, was my favourite player, my hopeful saviour of my beloved team,

he couldnt have hurt me more,
i feel used, and taken for granted.

Fuck you berrick, hope he gets a season ending injury in preseason next year

arsehole.

I'm starting to think maybe the Reds quit the S14 and ARU, and enter a team in the domestic Japanese comp. They'd shit it in and the players would be well paid. Not Wallaby eligible, but hey, if the money is there thats the main thing.

Barnes must be desperate if he thinks playing in the backs for NSW will improve his game.

I don't for a second blame Berrick. He goes where he is best served. I can see why the Tahs would be more attractive than the Reds.

The QRU is the problem.

On a plus side, my son will be happy.

I'm really losing faith of QLD rugby ever turning it around. It seems like it's just too late to do anything anymore. It's a disaster how this has happened given the fact that QLD produces so much talent, but they are all running around in Brumbies, Waratahs and Force jumpers.

What are the QRU doing that is so incredibly bad? It must go beyond just bad management into sexually abusing the players with farm animals or something.

Utter bullshit about wanting to play flyhalf. Mooney was jumping through so many hoops for barnes he looked like a seaworld dolphin. One more would have mattered dick all to Mooney.

I keep hoping that this is a joke, I am devastated and everyone at the Reds would be too. He'd want to come out with a pretty special apology for the fans and his teammates.

What a cock

What are the QRU doing that is so incredibly good? Why are we losing players? Why have we lost this team of established Super players all within the last 5 years!?

15 Drew Mitchell
14 Wendell Sailor
13 Junior Pelesasa
12 Berrick Barnes
11 Clinton Shifcofske
10 Julian Huxley
9 Josh Valentine
8 Daniel Heenan
7 Hugh McMeniman
6 Mitchell Chapman
5 Nathan Sharpe
4 Rudi Vedelago
3 Rodney Blake
2 Stephen Moore
1 Tom Court

It can't be all because they are all selfish players. It can't be all because the ARU are dicking us. There's got to be a fair bit wrong with QLD Rugby.

I sometimes see some of the Reds management/staff at the subway across the road from my work. The latest I noticed was Dan Herbert. I think next time I see him I’ll have to ask what the fuck is going on over there. (Although I won’t use the word ‘fuck’ because he is much bigger than me.)

Yet another talented inside back for NSW to shift around, mismanage, mess up their confidence, injure, then ultimately spit out and send off to Europe.

Funny how virtual guys like Stephen Donald and Morne Steyne were nobodies at best just a few years ago and yet sticking around in one position in one franchise has led to national selection. NSW should learn a lesson from that.

edit: What's his kicking ratio like? The Waratahs would actually be a very different team if they had a kicker who had a 70% or better ratio.

I feel for the Reds but the vitriol is strong on this thread so far and I'm just trying to find a positive for my team.

So it appears they have the missing link. So more pressure will be on the Tahs to "not stuff this up". A Barnes/Beale combination, mmmmm not sure about that, but I'm sure Clarkeeeee will jump all over it as "the one". Question is, will it be any better than Barnes/Cooper?

Still a couple of holes in the forward pack for the Tahs. The Brumbies on the other hand....

How many now see the need for a draft and transfer system. It is clear that the various s14 franchises cannot be trusted to 'not be greedy' and that they have little thought for the bigger picture of Aussie rugby. That qld are suffering is bad enough but to consistently see the home developed player going elsewhere is devastating.
This one decision is of the utmost import in that it should jolt the authorities into action. If nothing happens now then Aus rugby and more to the point Qld rugby is stuffed.

Can WaratahJesus claim this one, he was chatting to Berrick at Suncorp two years ago trying to convince Berrick to move south.

Made my week this did. Shame about the Reds but... actually stuff that, they're Queenslanders!

We love Berrick cause he's a Waratah!

Not a draft, just a transfer fee system is all that is required. Or for the Brumbies and Force to start producing players of their own.

Mooney has now come out and said they did everything Barnes wanted. He would say that, but still, this appears to be a betrayal of the highest order, up there with Sharpe in '05. I can only assume Mooney is putting in a claim for a new mobile phone after the call from BB: I know I would have thrown it into the nearest wall as hard as possible.

On the upside for Qld, maybe QC (Quade Cooper) can step up to real responsibility. Lucas can show what he has at 10 or 12.

I'm still confused by the 1-year deal. Does Barnes think the Reds would welcome him back, after this? Well, I suppose they would, but the message that would send would not be good.

This just might be the death knell for Queensland rugby. I dont know what I will do in winter anymore for watching sport.

Barnes is just one player and the Reds revival will continue. As soon as we get a decent forwards coach (is Jake Howard available?) our tight 5 led return to dominance will begin.

Welcome aboard Tah-Man. It's an unsual model of corporate propaganda that you're putting out there, but I like the unorthodox.

If we are talking drafts and so on, I don't see that the existence of the Brumbies and Force ought to be dependent upon developing their own players. The main purpose of those sides is to spread out the talent.

So, of course, if NSW had 3 international locks and then recruited James Horwill, that would suck. But I don't see how the Barnes situation fits that problem.

Oh well what's done is done we need players like Cooper, Lucas, Turinui to step up & maybe even Will Chambers could be seen as an inside centre.

Has Digby definitely put pen to paper? If he hasn't I bet he joins the Tahs as well.

If Phil Mooney has any idea on what he needs to do next season he'll get John Muggleton or Les Kiss on board right now & fuck off clowns like Rod Davies & Blair Conner & replace them with older more solid players like Ant Sauer who know how to tackle & be in the right position.

Shame to lose Barnes lets hope he can throw more falcons in the coming season for the Waratahs.

As someone pointed out on the front page, the 1-year contract is probably to head to the 5th team in 2011. Which makes sense now. As far as any of this makes sense.

Ive already claimed it over in gothetahs land there moses.
just realised, i wrote in my last post that i was sorry for queensland but forgot to gloat enough at the same time.

this is the NSW Waratahs under Chris Hickey, the NSW Waratahs that until this week were seen as on the slide, this is the NSW Waratahs that today are once again contenders.

im booking a ticket to NSW v ACT tomorrow, should be a cracker,

the contract is said to have a year option on it, but it is dependent on coaching etc as hickey is off contract at the end of 2010.

Well it's not all bad news for the Reds. Tom Carter having slipped a notch in the pecking order maybe looking for a new club. That'd be typical of the Reds though.... pinch a player from right under our noses. Turinui, Houston.... the list is endless!

And, on a more serious and less irritating note. I suppose if Barnes is not happy there he should go. Gotta be frustrating spending 4 years at a club and coming in the bottom 3 each year. I suppose he sees little prospect of that changing and wants to play behind a better forward pack.

Will give us a better chance of nailing the Brumbies and teaching Rocky Elsom a lesson, anyway.
