Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2022

That being so, Reg, I'll have to replace him. Looks like it'll have to be Edmed despite his intercept pass that ended the Tahs chances.

Matt To'omua's biggest fan over the years but also one of the first to call him out for lack of form last year and this. Very satisfying to see him have a better game on the weekend but for a rookie Edmed was outstanding playing against the likely Wallaby No 10.

Surprised so many selecting Kane Koteka. Excellent player and had a strong game against the Brumbies but even in that game alone i reckon Brown finished as the best No 7. Didn't pick him in the TOTW as I’m not sure he's Wallaby eligible. Same for Nu'u at the Rebels this week.
Well rugby, com.au selected koteka as 7 for Totw…

I thought edmed was excellent but someone’s comment of he may be better 12 got me thinking…as his short vs long passing game…strong at former…not sure about latter cf Donaldson…either way looks an excellent player and lot of nice surprises from players this week that stepped up…To'omua, edmed, marky n, Tuttle! Heck even Brad Wilkin who was outstanding at 6 on reflection…

I did mean to add - if I picked the team from the best players I saw in Super Rugby this weekend Ivania Wong would be on one wing, Cecilia Smith at 12 and Shannon Parry wouldn’t be out of place at 7 (though would’ve still had to give it to McReight). I thought the womens game was excellent to watch, not least because they don’t have a video ref.

It was really a choice of two though. Him or Sinclair. Yes, he made mistakes but he did a lot of good things too. I must admit I didn’t notice him missing 5 tackles, but I guess that’s the problem with these teams - most of us have watched the game once, maybe twice. You don’t see everything.

Missed tackles are hard to track unless you’re actually counting them and even then the numbers are iffy. I don’t remember any of Valetini’s but I remember him running over Wilson late in the first half, it’s not counted as a miss for Harry though.

I think Wilson and Valetini are our six and eight, don’t care who wears what number.

Which is interesting - I remember that too, so Wilson definitely missed one. But on the ESPN stats that I looked at this morning it had him on 0 misses.

I’ll forgive him a missed tackle though - given he was otherwise bloody good.
