^^^ that list includes some lads who are allegedly injured and not touring (Rorke, and Foketi), does not include Hodge who is allegedy a late call up, and includes Jones, Horwitz and Cornelson (who is now apparently touring vice Rorke).

Does that mean that Jones and Howritz are on the non-touring reserves list?

The Photoshopped "don't have a photo for this lad" pictures are a bit amateur looking.

The 2012 Australian Schools tour squad today assembled at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence in Redfern as it prepares to tour Fiji and New Zealand over the coming weeks.

Injury has forced two changes to the 28-man squad since it was named in August, with Lolakai Foketi and Harry Rorke being replaced by Reece Hodge and Jack Cornelson, son of Wallaby great Greg Cornelson.

The touring squad will depart for Lautoka, Fiji this Wednesday 19 September and will meet the Fijian President’s XV on Saturday 21 September and Fijian Schools on Tuesday 25 September.

The side will then travel to New Zealand to face the New Zealand Barbarians on 29 September, Samoan Schools on 2 October and finally New Zealand Schools on 5 October.

Earlier this year Australian Schools defeated Tongan Schools 70-13, while Australia A Schools dispatched Tongan Schools 29-5.

Below you will find the Australian Schools Tour Squad for 2012 along with the key fixture details. You will also find attached the Australian Schools Tour Book with key tour details and player profiles.

I hope that this might mean a change of viewpoint at St Leonards - that perhaps Schoolboy Rugby IS actually worth spending a bit of $$ on !

Bring on Saturday fortnight

Is that team real or did you write it?? If it's the real team list what is going on with Jack Dempsey being on the bench and Jim Stewart not starting!!!

^^^^ Settle. I reckon the Coaches have the Test against the little Darkness firmly in their sights. Every other game will be a trial of sorts to try out combinations, rest kids, and develop players who may not necessarily be the first choice selections. The #1 squad needs to be match fit but not fatigued. Bench players also need confidence and match fitness.

Regardless, these kids will try their absolute hearts out for their country.

It will be interesting to see how many NSW vs. QLD will be picked up for the last game of the tour. Taking into account their age (most are 6-12 months older) and what comes with it - experience (playing last year comp) you would expect majority of first XV to be from NSW. What I also noted that QLD forwards can play different position, great asset when on tour.

It would appear that the Schoolboy's team has gone down to the Fiji Presidents XV in the first match of their tour.

Not sure of the score, (16-9 ??) but will post when/if the carrier pigeon arrives.

Seems like LG's prognostications might be coming home to roost......sounds like the forwards were out-muscled & outplayed. The coaches will have a bit of work to do to re-focus the team - but it certainly isn't going to be a picnic for the boys ! As mentioned previously, they will no doubt be giving their all.

Cheers

Always good to have an early alarm call to get rid of complacency.

Hope they have the mental and physical toughness to recover.

Seriously. Only joking. We took a team to Fiji last year (U15) and our coach refereed the match. Prior to that he went to the opposition and asked who was not U16 ......... 8 of the 20 players put their hands up. I am sure the Presidents XV were a little better vetted. :) They still played and Oh yes we lost, boys had a great time though.

What is going on is that this does not purport to be the best team - the captain was on the bench. There are 28 players on tour and they are playing 5 games over 2 weeks; so you can't play your best team all the time. We probably won't know their best team until the NZ test, and if history is any guide 3-4 players won't be available for that game because of injury.

It's interesting that hooker Postal was named as a reserve. Since Wilson started it must mean that Moli S. from Victoria couldn't tour.
.

Done that

Ron Walden (29)
As long as there are no injuries , playing against hard opposition such as this will harden them up for the big one.
