Everybody gets a good ration of starting games on tours but the form players start in the test matches.

Yeah this was supposedly one of the weakest games of the tour, and why every bench player started, and the most valuable players like Cummins and Luani getting rested entirely.
Word from one of the players was that the boys had much difficulty finishing off tries, and that they had roughly 65 percent posession, while the referee was a tad on the dodgy side

Looks like they had the same trouble with finishing tries as v Samoa and Fiji in Sydney. They had better get that sorted out before they get to NZ and I don't mean just for the test match.

From watching those games that it is a problem that the coaches may not be able to fix all that easily without sacrificing pride and straight noses.
There seems to be some serious attitude problems and if I may be so bold preference as to who get passed the ball. Reports from the first game in Samoa do not dispel that thought.

I heard Crook may have been injured but my spies over there said later infact he is being rested.

Usually we only get to see schools matches if they are played in Oz.

I do remember seeing one "test" against the Kiwis on TV that was played in NZ. Is was a while ago and the only players I can remember playing in it were Daniel Halangahu for us and Jamie McIntosh for them.

I got that game on a video tape in one of my many boxes and I'll have to fish it out one day to have a look at it just for fun.

Where was I? I don't think that there's a great chance of seeing the Kiwi test on TV. For sure the last two times Oz was playing there it wasn't shown - maybe it was never televised.

Aussies beat Samoa 47-25.

A bit of an improvement for the Samoan lads from 52-10 in Sydney.
The lads do an all nigher now to arrive in NZ at sparrows tomorrow morning. I think they depart Apia at some ridiculous hour in the morning and arrive at 06:00 Auckland.

The Australian Schoolboys have extended their winning streak to four games after defeating Samoa 47-25 in their Test match at Apia Park in Samoa on Friday (Saturday AEST).

Brisbane State High School winger Chris Feauai-Sautia celebrated equalling Qantas Wallabies Quade Cooper and Kurtley Beale as Australia’s most capped Schoolboys players (9) with a brace of tries in the match while Newington College hooker Hugh Roach also had a top game as he reached the same milestone.

Australia held a narrow 21-18 lead over Samoa at halftime before St Augustine's College outside centre Malietoa Hingano piled on two second-half tries in a dominant performance by the visitors to lead Australia to their impressive seven tries to three victory.

The Australian Schoolboys will now fly to New Zealand where they’ll play the Waikato Harlequins U19 on Wednesday, a Test against Tongan Schools (2 Oct) and will round out the tour with a Test against New Zealand Schools on 6 October in Otago.

Petaia has really grabbed his opportunity due to Crooky's injury. He played really well yesterday as did F'sautia and the backs looked better - well at least the wingers saw some half decent ball. When wingers score it is a good indication of backline performance.

Perhaps the centres are getting the message! We will need to play to our strengths against the Kiwis

I've said it before and it won't be the last time, Crook should be at 15. Holland hasn't inspired yet on tour or in the 2 games in Sydney and by golly oh does Crook have a big boot on him AND with both feet from what I saw. It is going to be uphill for Crook to put either Petaia or F'Sautia out of a team on what they have done so far not withstanding that he hasn't had a tenth of the opportunities the other 2 wingers have had but runs on the board are runs to be beaten.

According to my Stats Hugh Roach and Chris Feauai-Sautia are equal with Quade Cooper and Kurtley Beale 's 9 Australian Schoolboys Caps. Well done . Both the boys , if all goes well will play 2 more tests. Fantastic stuff.
