How is Tom Conor travelling, I have not seen his name mentioned at all recently, is he injured? Wells at 6 suggests something is not right.

Apparently Dale can play 9, 10 and 15 but that wasn't the point of our comments. We were sarcastically referring to the aceribic and determined comments earlier that Holland was not injured when in fact he is.

Yeah no worries, I have seen him play all 3 of those positions. He is a very agile footballer, with good pace and strength for his size. I just thought they might bring in a specialist fullback.

10-3 against Tonga at oranges, apparently a torrid display of Rugby from the Australians, woeful passing, no rhythm and will no doubt be getting a stern talking to from the coach right now.

Final Score 22-3. To Australia, not as much as they might have wanted to rack up going into the New Zealand game on wednesday.

Actually 22-6 I think. Woeful is a word that comes to mind. Only positive is the defense. Passing, options, execution all need severe attention . If this is repeated on Wednesday I shudder to think what might be.
I would dearly love to make a comprehensive report however I respect the terms of membership to this forum.

What the? What's happening over there? We don't seem to be improving any. I don't like some of the selections but I will hold my tongue until the NZ game.

Ok being very careful.
What got shown today us that when/if our forwards get stifled in attack, the options of the backs are shown up to be very inadequate and this happened dramatically today. Tonga really stopped our forwards from working in attack.
The kicking game from 10 needs improved direction and accuracy. While Apo does get caught often with the ball, I think if the 10 stands a few metres deeper it will enhance the distribution and the kicking options and results.
I counted numerous times today when either Apo and or Himgano left their unmarked support players high and dry only to get immediately caught by the opposition leaving at least two maybe three trys begging. There needs to be a drastic redistribution of wide ball to Crook, Sautia and Petaia if we are to score as our three quarters have shown they invariably get caught playing their own private game. We have three very potent attackers who just aren't being given any chance at all.
The only time the ball went wide was when Apo wasn't involved. All other times it died with him or Hingano.*
There needs to be a rethink on teamwork.
Taumata could improve his speed of delivery to 12. Also needs to avoid kicking straight downfield only to have it returned with interest. That was a big problem.

For the life of me I can't understand why a fierce competitor like Stuie Goodman is sitting at home. Surely Wylie has got to come into calculations as he is a great passer of the football. I can't see the centres being chopped but let's hope the coaches are mentoring these boys and assisting them to make better decisions with the football.

Sounds like they need Goodman's leadership as much as his intensity. The impression is a bunch of headless chooks who fold under a bit of pressure, both backs and forwards. The centres are not great team players, both are used to being the "go to" man rather than distributers and making half breaks then offload. Bit late now me thinks.

How do those who saw last year's team compare it to this year's group. I can only make comments about a number of individuals rather than the team although I saw the 2009 team play. If NZ is about the same as last year, then may be interesting.

We can beat the darkness if we score more points than them. That is not meant to be a smart arse comment either. The one standout of this team is defense.*
We will not in all probability score too many tries against nz but we well might be able to severely restrict theirs.
If our defense holds solid we could pull off a miracle, but this is not likely as the points difference between them and Tonga and us and Tonga wa 45 points and while this should not be a hard rule it is too many IMO for this team to rein in.

Anybody heard why Tom Cusack is not playing? Was he injured or did he get dropped. I noticed he was scoring a fair few tries in the previous games and by all reports he was doing fine so interesting to hear.
