The Weather app on the phone says that Wellington is 12 degrees and cloudy with a 23 km/hr wind at 41% humidity. 6% chance of rain.

Apart from the gentle Wellington zephyr, it looks like perfect conditions for the match.

no wonder his son didn't get picked then
;)
I saw the smiley - and although Alex played well for his type of player, he wasn't in the hunt against the others.

Jackson-Hope was probably the best 10 of the week.

NSW had some fine schools players this year compared to in the past, though to be honest they weren't as good on team work.

The 10s O'Shea and Day - even Renton when he was brought in when Day was out, plus McGregor when he got a shot at flyhalf, had some good games, or halves, in the pivot role.

C'mon boys.

So much for the phone's weather ap. 10% chance of rain. Yeah right.

It's hailing FFS.

Thank goodness that Tongan Thor isn't in black. The others just shunted our piggies back by about 5 metres in the first scrum of the match. Welcome to the big show Boys.

What was the ruling that gave Aus the ball? NZ pushed too much or something, what kind of shit ruling is that?

Under 19 Law variations. Scrum can only move 1.5 metres, then the dominant team must stop advancing.

As predicted, Keith Quinn (commentator) is having no difficulty with PI and Maori names.

I understand it's for safety but still seems ridiculous for punishing a team for being too dominant.

One of the reasons why we tend to select a stack of loose forwards in schoolboy forward packs, instead of hard arse grafting mongrel locks.

Finally, NZ pressure yields reward. 17 minutes gone.

NZ #9 Nock scores near tough line. #15 Trainor converts from sideline (wind assisted).

NZ 7 Aus 0. 18 minutes.

Aus surviving on scraps of possession but gaining confidence. Goddard uncharacteristically misses his second PK attempt.
22 minutes. No change to score.

NZ has had 3 minutes in AUS 22.
Aus has been in NZ 22 for 7 seconds.

NZL right wing gets meat from an excellently executed backline set piece move from an attacking scrum.

NZL #14 (Jonah Lowe) scores on opposite touch from the scrum. #15 Trainor converts from sideline.

NZL 14 Aus 0. 27 minutes.
