The funds that have inspired this idea (Future Generation Australia and Future Generation Global) have combined assets under management of over $1.2 billion and are 9-10 years old. So it's not outside the realms of possibility.

I've just been holding out for prices to go down. Hoping that the initial price set does attract enough people and RA will be forced to sell tickets for cheaper closer to kick off if games not sold out.

Looking at the ticket maps for the Sydney games at least I think it is going to be wishful thinking that there will be cheaper tickets available closer to the event.

Yes, I jumped on and bought a few 'gold' tickets yesterday. I'll doubt I'll get test tickets through regular channels and I don't want to miss the Lions tour entirely so it's really my only chance to get amongst the action.

Sure - I'd argue that this does not have the same widely-appealing benefit of, for lack of a better term, societal impact to get investors involved - or at the very least, it's far a far more niche market. Hope it goes well for all involved though.

Hard to say what will happen right around the time of the games. Will secondary market tickets be massively over face value or will there be some people trying to recoup some money for a ticket they can no longer use?

It would be the Australian Rugby Foundation that supplies the player top ups, with funding from the Rugby Future Fund and other existing sources. Given they're already topping up player salaries and have been for over a decade I can't see how this would change their ability to do that.

There was a recent update to suggest that the anonymous JAS backer was one of McLennan's buddies (via the foundation) - once McLennan was gone, so was the money, leaving post-McLennan RA to find the cash elsewhere.

All of it absolutely reeks.

Happy to be corrected, but I think Robinson (at least on the surface) proposed more wholistic changes to the game and its management - Benazzi's focus seemed to be more regional, specifically looking to growth in Africa.

To me, it seems like a good outcome.

Edit: I should also mention that it seems a very wise move to elect someone so involved with concussion research at this current point in time

From a wholly selfish point of view, it's great news. Robinson will, within reason, help support the game here. He supports the nations cup which should get Aus a larger slice of the (bigger) pie.
