Dan Herbert has come out and called bullshit on that report.
well yes and no

The article said:

"Herbert decided to speak out to give Brumbies players, staff and fans reassurance about the club's immediate future, while the long-term vision for Super Rugby is yet to be determined."

"Herbert stopped short of making future guarantees"

"They have kept us well informed of their potential challenges and their plans to overcome these challenges, and we will continue to engage and support them."

Nowhere did he say that the reports were wrong, and neither should he. He's the Chairman of the Board. His job is to manage the business of the Board, to consider reports and recommendation brought to them and to monitor performance. His job is not to shoot from the hip - see [McLennan, Hamish]

Too much negativity.

World cup review set for release next week:

Doesn't include numbers for the over budget spend (wasn't part of the terms of reference), but governance and process around the spending are covered.

The budget blow out and figure really isnt the problem, so i agree they dont waste time on it.

The why we got there is more important ie why was 23 people required, is that over kill or required for a RWC.

Watching the documentary, you see most of the coaching team doing bugger all so why Eddie told RA he needed such a big backroom is more interesting than how much it costs.

While the new Wallaby docuseries was somewhat interesting, I thought that the people who weren't interviewed or who we didn't hear from was more revealing than what was actually shown.

You have to admit that the injury toll was a pretty tough ask for the team to handle.

Would love to see a proper no holds barred review done by the long suffering fans.

With GIFS.

And with @Pfitzy on a bad day.
.....former Wallabies captain Andrew Slack, ex-Wallaby and RUPA boss Justin Harrison and AIS high-performance expert Darlene Harrison making up the panel.
Hold on, so the players rep is on the review board?
"Players did nothing wrong."
"Some of them slipped and fell at inopportune moments."
And a former Wallabies captain? On what planet is that an "external" review?

Darlene Harrison is well respected within the high-performance world. I'm holding out hope that she's been able to spearhead the review and get into the weeds, as opposed to being guided by others on the panel who may have vested interests.

Lets hope there is a plan and it includes more games of rugby, someone posted a Wessel's quote (paraphrasing) "you can't run a shop that is only open 7 times a year"

It was one of the better explanations of the basic failure of the current Super Rugby model

You can run that shop ('that is only open 7 times a year') - but only into the ground.

The point of the quote, of course.

The Herald Sun has rolled back on that story too...

Last week, the Brumbies were getting cut and Australia going into 2025 with three teams.

This week, the Brumbies are guaranteed a spot for next year.

I can't wait for next week.
Probably the Tahs will be cut because everyone knows there's just too many tahs

Would a shop open 10 or 11 days a week be anymore successful if they selling the same stock? ;)
Surely you improve the quality of what you sell.

There's also Champions Cup, Challenge Cup, and Premiership Rugby Cup fixtures to consider as well

Exeter played 34 games in 22/23

One of those things - if you make money each game, then the more games the better. If you lose money each game, then more games sends you broke quicker
