I will also say same, I a Canes man, and I always think going into every game they play, I honestly think they can win it. And genuinely believe it, I know at times you also know a few trhings have to go right for them, but believe they have the goods to do it.
You think the Australian fans aren't the same

Oh - do you live in Aotearoa? The NZ fans on this forum have said they expected our teams to beat the Crusaders. I know the family I have back in Aotearoa expected the same.

I don't see the same belief in Brumbies fans.
What the fuck do you think I am..

I can understand that, same as your neigbour continually saying it's probably your fault that they don't take care of their own back yard!! ;) :)
Not your fault at all, but can you see where some of us think if we had more opportunities for more Australian's more would play the game and if we have winners over this side of the ditch that the game would be better for it.. Doing the same old thing isn't working... specially for Australian's..

No matter what you and Bullrush think..

It almost feels like our Kiwi brethren are saying that the Aussie fans shouldn't express any hope to beat the Kiwi teams because at the moment it's not a real expectation, and if we were real fans we need to be kowtowing to the might of Kiwi rugby. And we need to just "be better"

The issue is rugby Australia has to do what’s best for it and rugby NZ the same. Are those interests actually aligned?

Where have I ever said less Australains should get less chances to play? I would never suggest that, and why I asked what the point of spending monsy on overseas players was. I think RA should be spending all their money getting as many Aus players into game as possible.

Sorry mate you misunderstood me I was backing up your assertion that Aus expect to win, but correcting where you said this

"Slims right no one in New Zealand expected to beat the Crusaders... and they didn't..."

I expected (well hoped, as I never EXCPECT any team to win) Canes to beat Crusaders!

No, no no. The Kiwis also have a plan for how we can be better for them, you know, an Australia that is better for NZ leads to, well, a better NZ. Be thankful while you kowtow you ingrat.

Probably right, a better everyone in rugby is better for all of us. Better rugby will involve better interest in the game worldwide!

ahhh so youre not in the play in 3/4 teams to be more competitive mob, the way I see it, is we need as many Australians playing in a comp that has the unpredictability of the outcome.

SPR is not that.. By the halfway mark (of a way too short a season) 4 Australian teams 2 foreign teams, and 1 Kiwi team were out of the running that's not good for anyone..

So I want more Australians to play in a more even competition that is the goal.

No , regardless of what I think, I don't advocate for 3-4 teams I think you should have as many teams as you can afford to realistically compete. The only thing I have said is I don't really think it a great idea for Australian rugby teams to be paying players that aren't eligible for Australia.
But I can understand that Aussie teams think paying for overseas players works for them.
It's noone else's fault if 4 Aus teams are out of contention at halfway mark if that is actually true. It may affect everyone, but that's their decision completely.
The only thing I will argue with is saying that RA or super teams can say to NZR they have to allow players to be eligible for ABs while playing for teams outside NZ. It's NZR's policy and even if it was allowed, the Aus super teams would have to pay top $ which is taking money from Aus players.

Fair... NZR should do what's best for them, as Rugby Australia should for themselves. I think NZR though should understand though if the competition can't produce unpredictably of outcome how ever that's done. A lot of Australians believe we should make our own commercial product that does.. More teams more players and realistically we believe more money. The only sample size we have is the years of Super Au which was a success in Australia..(no matter what Kiwis say)

What's happening now is that Rugby Australia just got knocked out at the group stages,NZ got beaten in the pool game and could very well get knocked out at the quarters of a RWC.

We need to generate interest from the public of Australia...sorry don't think that happens in Super Rugby Pacific. No interest no money no game... we will all end up all blacks... but from when they turn the lights off.

So just imagine the hugely unlikely miracle happened and Fiji choked and we got through. Has Eddie given himself time to replace Frost and Gordon? I don’t think Jorgensen has been replaced either?

The ultimate outcome would be for RugbyAU to step in and say eddie we are taking over selections and we are bringing in Ikitau, Cooper and Hooper, plus Skelton and Tupou will be available, suddenly we have a much better side.

But yes no point speculating and if it did happen he would just play Donaldson at 10, T Hooper second row and not replace any of them

I’d say they did give it thought. They flew an entire shadow squad to Europe for this exact reason

Isn't Uelese also out injured and I've heard Nic White is now also out if we make it through. But don't worry, apparently Eddie knows who will come in. Must be good if they don't need to train with the team this week.
