So this equity sale must be interesting sell at the moment
I disagree - surely Twiggy is licking his lips on how cheap it will be to buy equity. Drops an extra $100 million buying talent, setting up pathways and you'll get a pretty good return in less than a decade.

I know he'll be losing a bit of cash due to the divorce, but, you'd imagine he'll still have a dozen or so billion left over.

Given my record on this site I tho I would upfront say this is not me saying this, rather its the big boss, Hamish McLennan,

From the OZ. https://www.theaustralian.com.au/sp...g/news-story/d816e30c34c397b13ce202a929660f59

""""The real culprits are the game’s custodians who have allowed the code to wither on the vine when the alarm bells were ringing louder than ever.

For far too long, national and state rugby administrators have neglected their obligation to protect and grow the game, instead living off the successes from decades ago and the unwavering loyalty of the true believers.

Instead of making the tough calls that needed to be made, they prioritised self interest and Band-Aid solutions knowing it was only a matter of time before their house of straw got blown away.""""

Well he's not wrong and I'm glad it's being acknowledged. Crack on with fixing it, Hammer.

Or an alternate take is this result is that the custodians of the world game have got it right and started to give PI nations assistance?
Just it depends what your take is on result, I know it maybe not good for Aus rugby, but bloody good for international rugby, like Japan beating Boks, and Samoa beating Wales back in the day, results like this are good for rugby.

Na fuck Fiji. The Australian government should strip all foreign aid funding from Fijian rugby.

Give them funding for humanitarian issues, healthcare, food, shelter, education and so on but not for rugby so they can beat us

Interesting take on the Queensland SEN radio show about who destroyed the wallabies. IMO the ARU themselves have destroyed our once prestigious national side. The lack of development at the grassroots level is only the tip of the iceberg.

DFAT already provides them funding for these humanitarian factors and it dwarfs anything provided for sport.
Funding humanitarian programs and soft political programs like national sports aren't mutually exclusive.

Funding humanitarian programs as well as funding of soft political programs like national sport aren't mutually exclusive.
Not saying they don’t, I am just stating I support giving them aid for those reasons but not for sport

Í can't recall how many Sth African fans were calling for the sacking of team/coach when they lost to Japan in 2025?

I agree it's good for Rugby, just hurts.

Good for the fact that those results weren't zero sum, except here they are.

The game is so fucked in Aus.

Part of the problem is this idiotic finger pointing by all stakeholders involved when in reality everyone is partly culpable. Maybe some more than others but as a collective we've been dragging this shit down for decades.

Fiji probably helps Australia more when it comes to rugby, and you want to blame a third world country for Australia's problems rather than looking at the Board members and Eddie Jones? Wow.

not sure if this is serious or not, but do you understand why now both fed govt. left & right are funding the drua? It has absolutely nothing to do with rugby

Not blaming them, if you could read you would see that all I am saying is I don’t agree with foreign aid money being spent on sport

Yeah it’s soft diplomacy to help stop the rise of China in the Asia Pacific. Like it’s really going to achieve anything. If they had a better deal on the table from China they’d take it

You realise a little bit of wasteful spending here and a little bit there adds up to a lot of money
Lol if you want to talk about wasteful spending look at how much money the ARU have wasted over the last few years.

But how much of Fiji's aid money has been spent on Rugby?
