Thanks BH. Someone above had suggested the U20s were or might have been the nominated side at some stage, and given in more years than not we don't even have an Aus A side, I was merely hoping.

Dear RA, this is doing very little to promote Super Rugby Pacifica.

I'm embarrassed that even the single game at HBF has no data.
Are attendances being published anywhere?
PS It's only Rugby Union that is NOT publishing crowd sizes. AusStadiums show crows for League, AFLW, Basketball etc.

I think that lead to initial clarifications around swapping which team was your second side and the requirements on national unions to make it clear that U20s players were aware they were being selected in a capture game but it was much earlier than this change.

It might have been the Belgium/Spain/Romania eligibility drama that went on before the last world cup, but I don't remember exactly when that was so it could have been after this change to the rules
Around this time in 2018.

Probably need to talk to the Force and the Rebels about that one, even the tahs are publishing crowd numbers now.

the Reds v Force crowd was announced. If the person updating that website can't source the figures thats on them to be frank

I took the kids to the Drua/Rebels game at Sunshine Coast Stadium, which was a pretty late ground transfer, was probably 1500/1800 there which cconsidering was not to bad. Tickets were $20 adults and kids free so good value.
Felt sorry for the sole Rebels supporters surrounded by a 100 rather happy Fijians :)

Both Reds home games it was announced at the ground so it puzzles me why it wouldn't be listed

Just on crowds interesting to note the afl on wed & thu night 10-15% down on what was expected.

I don't think 58K on a Wednesday night and 72K on a Thursday night is any real cause for concern...
Whilst those numbers are incomprehensible for rugby, the AFL sets its budgets based on those bums on seats. Got to keep pouring the millions into GWS and Gold Coast, and beautiful redevelopments of ovals in the west of Sydney.

gf replay & 1st full capacity in 2 years was expected to get 65k-70k

last nights was expected to be 85k plus
Plus Melbourne unfurling the flag for the first time in 57 year. But then again most Melbourne fans are old so they are in the democratic the most worried about covid.

I thought the crowd on Wednesday was poor, normally the thing that holds the MCG back from being full is the amount of old Melbourne fans in the members who don’t go when it’s not the Dees. But the members was packed

The AFL doesn’t care too much. They sell the seats and then people don’t show up. They still make the money

I don’t believe they honestly expected that size of a crowd for Wednesday night… in fact, they received what many of us predicted.

Despite the hoopla of being the GF rematch, it was still a Wednesday night, and it wasn’t one of the big four Melbourne clubs.
