Garbage. You drop a culture war cliche like ‘wokeness’ then pretend to get uppity when people bite. I wouldn’t have half as many issues with you lot if you could manage to get by without being utterly dependant on the ‘woke, echo chamber, latte sipper’ catch phrases. It’s like paint by numbers - throw a few in and wham you have a sentence.

Would have spilt my chardonnay, if I wasn't at work (in the inner city geographically, no less).

Maybe you are still dragging your knuckles because of the Folau business. This was a simple matter of an employee making an undertaking on an important issue and then going back on it.
Mods: you want people not to bring up this stuff again, then you need to ensure that some statements which are completely and clearly incorrect and contrary to the actual sequence of events are removed.

It's not debatable - the timeline and the language used was (and still is) quite clear.

Any separation of responsibilities like this will probably increase overheads to some extent? (Assuming that there are some economies of scale in having certain functions centrally managed?)

Jeez, my comments were more about a replacement with a lot of the conversation being about Kearns and so on, I was merely suggesting that if she was to be rolled, the CFO could take on the care taker role until such time as a suitable CEO could be found. I actually didnt mean to start a sh&t fight about her performance - although, imho, I do not think she has done a good job - but I don't want to argue that point at all. Apologies to all who have been slighted by a divergent opinion.

who is the CFO?

I think Raelene is here for a bit longer. If there was any truth in it, they would have acted by now and very quickly. Today, Easter Thursday at COB would have been the perfect time for such an announcement.

Fox just blowing wind up their own backsides.

Its pretty clear they had lost the rights and they knew it and are in wrecking mode

Castle is contracted until the end of the year hard to see her continuing. Aside from TV rights why remove her now. I agree she was handed a shit sandwich, but she has not handled some issues well.

Even this pay agreement shows a lack of judgement, she should have been aware of what the possible pay cut was to be. She has agreed to another 15% to match the players (i presume).
To me that was not leading from the front, she should have ensured her original pay cut was going to at least be greater then the players.

Why - she's actually still working. Players are bloody lucky to get 35%. Realistically no-one will be recruiting anywhere in the world, and deals at the other end of this are unlikely to be as big as they are now.

Look I agree with that, overseas clubs are hardy likely to be flush with funds after this. But she is the CEO, she should have been more aware of what % pay cut the players were likely to be offered.

Giving herself a 2nd pay cut looks more reactive than leading from the front.

Maybe she knows they will always ask for more - so a 50% cut was a good opening gambit.

And while the players are stood down, I imagine she is working harder than she ever has.

Because she changed her position as things became clearer. That's leadership. All she's done is lead since she took the job and that's put a lot of 'this is the way we always/used to do things' people off side. You as an example don't have a good wod to say about her and are now simple looking for excuses to bad mouth her.

I'm not looking at excuses to bad mouth, imo i don't think she has done a bad job considering the issues facing the game here, I agree wholeheartedly about going to the open market for broadcast rights.

But in this situation, I think she should have been more perceptive. She is the CEO, and should have been leading from the front not having to adjust her position to match other staffs sacrifices.
